The night was cold and unforgiving; chills from the hyuga compound came passing by as the hyuga's set off to bed.

"Neji did you-"

"I already did" neji replied before she could finish her sentence.

"Alright, alright, I know that I'm being rude again about asking if you already covered our precious one with her blanket the fifth time this day neji, but I can't help it… I'm a mother,"

"Understood" he said before giving her her daily 'you should give me a goodnight kiss.' Neji was getting it anyway; he kisses her even though she doesn't tell him to do so.

It was really the coldest day ever. Tenten couldn't help but just think about their only child sleeping a room away from them.

"Arrgghh" the mistress groaned as she tried so hard to go to sleep.

She then walked to the room where their child was sleeping.

"Oh, I know she'd remove it "tenten said as she picked up the blanket from the floor and put it onto her child.

"M-mo-mmy?"

"Mitsuki!" (1) "Why you are still awake dear?" tenten exclaimed both in surprise and in confusion.

"Mommy it's- cold" said mitsuki, trembling.

Rushing back to the bed of her daughter, tenten checked on if something's happening on her daughter. She touches the little girl's forehead.

'Fever' she thought to herself. Putting another blanket atop of her daughter, she rushed to the room where neji was sleeping.

"Neji!... neji!... please wake up!... "The weapon's mistress was sounding very worried because not only she was their only child but it was mitsuki's first time to have a fever.

"Hhnnnn."Sleepily, neji sat in an upright position.

"Neji, mitsuki have a fever,"

"Hn." Neji sleepily grunted still having the thought of laying his head back to the comfy pillow.

Tenten rolled her eyes at seeing her husband's reactions and was irritated to that 'one syllable or not even a word' response to what she had just said. "I SAID ... GET YOUR BUTT OUT OF THAT BED ANG GO DOWNSTAIRS AND GET A BASIN, FILL IT WITH COLD WATER AND DIP A TOWEL INTO IT THEN BRING THEM UP HERE 'CUZ MITSUKI … YOUR DAUGHTER, OUR CHILD, HAVE A FEEEEEEVVVEEEERRR !"

Almost eye popping out, Neji run as fast as he could to get downstairs and do exactly what his wife had said.

Running back to where their child was, Neji handed Tenten the basin, and sat beside her.

Squeezing the towel that had just dipped into the cold water, Tenten placed it on Mitsuki's forehead.

"There." She said.

When their daughter was almost getting better, the parents talked to their child.

"Mitsuki …" said the mistress.

"Yes, mom"

"Are you felling better now?"

Mitsuki nodded, indicating it was a yes.

"Mommy? I'm sorry" Mitsuki said referring to the fact that her parents could not sleep just to keep an eye on her.

"Huh? Why? Mitsuki there's nothing to be sorry about." Tenten explained. Tenten could see the water that's welling up her daughter's eyes.

"Mitsuki, do not ever remove your blanket away from you especially when you sleep … this will be the one who will protect you when your father and I will be nowhere to be seen … they can keep you warm, and they can dry up those tears …" Tenten paused, wiping the tears out of her child's cheeks. "And … they can help you remember … me."

Neji hold Tenten's hands so tightly, Tenten held his as well. "Right, Neji?" glaring at her husband to indicated she didn't want a 'one syllable' respond.

Neji ignored the glare, "Hn." He responded to her daughter.

"Huh?" said Mitsuki confused if it's a yes or a no.

"Ahh … and darling that was a yes." Tenten said wanting to punch Neji because of that 'one syllable or not even a word' response.

Footnotes:

Mitsuki means three months but in some language, it means full/beautiful moon

So it's like mitsuki means three months of full/beautiful moon.
