If Vampires Could Cry

Edward smiled at me as the priest said 'You may kiss the bride'. He took a moment to prepare himself and then his cold lips were on mine, taking my breath away. I flushed, impossibly turning a shade lighter than I normally was. And then, as quick as it had begun, the kiss ended. Edward made contact with my eyes once more and he swept me into his arms, carrying me out of the church and into the awaiting car. This was the beginning. The beginning of the start, the beginning of the story, the beginning of the end.

Edward held me for an immeasurable moment, not once losing eye contact. I wanted so very badly to kiss him, but I didn't, for I knew we would have the rest of forever. But first, my half of the deal had to be attempted. "Edward?"I whispered after awhile.
"Hmm?" He muttered, still not letting go of my eyes.
"Are we going to try?" I asked, blushing. Edward smiled, placing a freezing hand on my cheek.
"I'll miss that," He said quietly. "Yes, Bella. We'll try. We're going back to the house to get our things and then we're taking a trip up to Alaska. We'll have three days to ourselves, and then the rest of the family will be coming up to help you get through the transformation." He explained, his eyes taking on a hint of distaste at the mention of my being changed into a vampire. "Are you sure this is what you want, Bella?" He asked, smoldering me with his eyes to make me say no. I had to fight with all my might to collect myself enough to speak.
"If there were another way I could be with you forever, I'd consider it. But seeing as it's not possible, this is what I want. Yes, Edward. I do. I want this," I said, not backing down. Edward's eyes were indecipherable for a moment and then they took back on the look of adoration he had had all day. "Very well, Bella. I can see I cannot change your mind. But remember, Bella, you will not be able to change back should you get tired of me. Forever is a very long time..." He cautioned, uselessly.
"No. It's nowhere near long enough," I smiled. Edward looked down at me admiringly and kissed me passionately.
