Disclaimer: I don't own NiGHTS into Dreams.

It was so cold. I couldn't see past two feet in any direction; the fog was too thick.

I suddenly felt so alone, afraid; it was like the bright light that kept me going this far went out. And just as suddenly as it went out, all I could see were bright lights and smiling faces – dark, menacing smiles that promised never-ending nightmares and constant torture – blurring around me. NiGHTS and I were no longer sharing a body. I didn't know where he was.

I felt like a bird, whose wings had been ripped off and then tried to fly. Just like I tried to save reality without hope, wisdom, purity, growth, and now courage.

It's not possible.

I tried to scream, but I just couldn't get my lungs to take in enough air. All of a sudden everything went black, and my scream pierced the air.
