Author's Note: A little something with my secret OTP, Naruto/Gaara. Takes place on an imagined night after Gaara is brought back to life by Elder Chiyo (ep 31?) without his demon, before Naruto and team leave the village. Written for LJ Comm Hentai-contest's "I/You Did What?" prompt.

Kindred Spirits

How had it happened? Why? He didn't like guys. He barely had patience for girls. But there it was. They'd done what they'd done. No bowl of ramen would be deep enough to wash the taste of that kiss out of his mouth or the smell of sweat from his nostrils. As he trudged back to his team, he couldn't stop replaying the scene in his mind.

The night was dark, the stars out in their thousand-thousands. They'd sat together, far from everyone, gazing at the sky. Gaara had changed so much since Naruto first befriended him. He was proud to be Kazekage, grateful to his friends, thankful to be alive. There was trust between them; they were kindred spirits. Or were they now? Gaara had lost his Shukaku. Was he happy? Naruto turned to see the sparkle of a tear run down Gaara's cheek. Then it had happened.

Hands met, clumsy mouths pressed together. Hard, messy, awkward, they embraced. Gaara pushed Naruto back in the sand. They rolled and groped, legs wrapped; young bodies ground together, fully clothed and desperately hard. Neither made a move to stop or undress. They were all inexperienced eagerness and hunger. Each swallowed the other's moans as their rough kiss remained unbroken, friction hurling them toward mutual climax before they could stop themselves. Arching and peaking nearly simultaneously, they couldn't care about soiled pants or what the morning would bring. Trembling with aftershocks in the cooling air, they at last parted mouths and bodies to lie, panting and gasping, in the sand.

When dawn came, Naruto was alone, groggy and sticky. At least it didn't show from outside. His friends hailed him over the hill, Gaara with them. Naruto hoped hard that he wouldn't mention it, now or ever, that they'd remain kindred spirits in keeping this secret. After all, as embarrassing as it would be to face Gaara, he'd freak entirely if Kakashi-sensei or Sakura ever found out.
