Danny Broche had been one Alphonse Elric's body guard for a few years, now, and it was obvious for him to pick up some rather…strange things about the boy.

The first strange thing was that his assignments were scarcely in the day, anymore, not since the boy had stopped wearing armour when he was sixteen. The boy seemed to prefer the night air, but would always smile and shake it off when asked.

The other was that Danny never saw him eat, any longer. He'd be with him for most of the night, but he never saw the boy eat dinner, or anything. Not even get himself some water or something.

The third was the most obvious. The fact that Alphonse's young, teenaged face remained just that.

He wasn't ageing.

The realization of this was disturbing to Danny, when he figured it out…

"What do you mean?" Al asked, innocently, cocking his head to one side in that adorable, perplexed way, when Danny idly brought it up in conversation one night. His pale face gleamed in the moonlight, his eyes almost glowed as the eyed the older male, "Not…ageing?"

Danny frowned, and nodded, "You look almost exactly the same as you did two years ago, Alphonse."

Al smiled, almost sadly, and shook his head, "You…you must be mistaken." But his voice was uncertain, pained.

"You're…you're lying, aren't you?" Danny tried. This was all too weird.

Alphonse sighed again, and smiled weakly to the older boy, "I…I'm sorry, Danny. I...I don't want to lie to you…but…" he bit his lip, "I…I'm sorry. I'm afraid."

"Al?" Danny tried, cautiously, reaching to the smaller boy, taking his face in his hands, "Please…tell me. You can trust me, can't you?"

"I…I want to." Al sighed, looking away once more, but he smiled, "You wouldn't believe me if I said it."

"Alphonse…I trust you, you know that."

"I'm a vampire."

Danny blinked once. Twice. "…what?"

"I'd hate to say I told you so…"

Danny blinked a few more times, "You're joking…right?"

"…told you so."

Danny shook his head wildly, trying to make sense of this, "You're…you're serious, Al?"

Al nodded slowly, with a sigh, but smiled none the less, white fangs flashing in his jaws.

"Wow…"

"I…Danny…I want you to stay with me…"

"But if you are one of the un-dead…" Danny bit his lip lightly, "Then you'd be…immortal?" he was finding all of this hard to believe, but he fought to at least listen to what Alphonse had to say.

Alphonse nodded sadly, and sighed, "Yes, which would mean I'd have to change you if you were to be with me…"

Danny involuntarily stepped back, "Like…make me a vampire?"

Al's expression grew hurt for a moment, "You're afraid…"

"It's a…strange thought." Danny admitted softly, shaking his head, "I…I don't know…"

But he paused then, thinking it over. If Al wasn't serious there was nothing to worry about. If Al was serious…it was worth it to be with him. Anything was worth it. And he did trust Al…

"Alright."

Al seemed taken aback, "Huh?"

"I'll do it…how?"

Alphonse smiled sweetly, and moved to cast his shadow over the other man, "…drink from me and live forever, Danny…"

That was the last thing Danny heard before the fangs one of the one he loved sunk into his neck.
