Disclaimer: I don't own the Wheel of Time! It all belongs to Robert Jordan

A/N Takes place right after Nynaeve leaves Lan at World's End in Saldaea.

"Nynaeve!" he called as he watched he disappear though the open gateway. She had only been gone two seconds but he already missed her. In truth he was still angry at her for leaving him so far from his destination but he still missed her, even though his anger.

The night remained relatively calm as he picked up speed to get to his destination faster. As he rode he played out the events of the day in his mind, thinking about his wife's strength and courage. Many women, he knew, would have balked at the idea of being separated from their husband, and would have not let them go without much fuss. But as he had said before, his wife was a lioness! That was part of the reason he had been attracted to her in the first place. He wished she was with him now. He would have to settle, though, for a silent companion, haunting his thoughts.

The days seemed to fly by fairly fast as he continued on his journey to Shienar. He no longer rode alone. He had met some men in the last town he had visited who had asked to ride with him. He would have refused but he remembered his own promise to his wife. He had promised her that if anyone asked, he would allow them to ride with him.

As he rode, he wondered to himself how these people, his companions, seemed to expect him and know of his errand. He had never wanted to be a leader of men. He preferred to fight his own battles. He thought it curious that his wife would have made him promise to let these people ride with him. Perhaps she had something to do with it. That would make sense. After all, she was Aes Sedai and could travel where she willed. Also, she was fixed on the notion that if she left him unchaperoned he would run off seeking an early death in the borderlands. Perhaps she was right. Perhaps he did need a guardian, though he knew that the only guardian he would accept would be her.

As the days lengthened into weeks he began to wish more fervently for her to be by his side once more. Her strength and courage helped him get though both the hard and tedious days. She was his companion; someone with whom he could always confide in. She supported him in every decision even though she hated the fact that some of those decisions led him into danger.

By the end of a month he vowed to himself that when this war was finished he would attach himself to her side. He would attach himself so firmly that not even a trolloc would be able to separate them. He missed her so much. It was almost unbearable.

A/N Just a little One Shot that I randomly came up with. Hope you enjoyed it
