So this came to me while I was reading a really sad story. It included losing a loved one in war, and it just hit me like a wall of bricks. My cousin just graduated basic training. Then I asked Nathan what he wanted to do when he was older. He wants to be in the army. Just this sudden ache of pain in chest appears wondering if we'd be together then and if I lost him or if my cousin died. So, to get it out, I decided to wrote something very angsty. So, her it is.

DISCLAIMER: I don't own Percy Jackson, happy? Gosh, you think you'd know by now.

Third Person

He was her world; her home; her best friend. She knew there was a possibility he wouldn't come, she refused to believe.

She got the letter when she was six months pregnant. She fell into the chair and cried until she was numb, then when it subsided, cried even more.

Two months later she sat in front of his grave, as she read it over and over;

Nicolas Di Angelo

A loving fiancé

Soon-to-be father

He will always be

Remembered

A hand rests on her shoulder as she looks into blue eyes. Jason sighs and crouches next to her.

"You have to go home." He tells her as she looks away at a nearby park.

"I can't." she whispers.

"Why's that?" he asks softly.

"My home is dead. Killed in a bombing. There was only one survivor." She says and looks down at the ground.

"About that…" he tells her and gets up. "Someone wants to talk to you."

"He was a good guy." Percy's voice echoes from above her.

"Why are you here?" she whispers to him.

'I just want you to know Nico saved my life. I was the survivor. I came back after getting all the cuts and that healed. He pushed me out of the door when he saw something. He didn't have time to save himself." He crouches down next to her. "He died a hero."

She knows it doesn't change anything, but those words would mean a lot to him, so she thanks Percy, gets up, and leaves the graveyard.
