Naruto was alone in the world, and he didn't know why. Well not until he was much older.
He didn't have much hope either. He might say that he was going to be Hokage some day, but no one believed him. Over time he started to believe them more then himself. He started to believe everything they yelled at him or uttered under their breathe as he passed by. Slowly Naruto started to loose faith in himself and he wasn't sure he was going to get it back.
That was until Naruto saw her. He first saw her peaking out from the edge of a building looking at him. Naruto thought he was seeing things and was finally going crazy. But then it happened a few more times, and he decided he wasn't seeing things or going crazy. He even caught her watching him train from behind a tree.
She reminded Naruto of a child hiding behind their parents leg when they meet a new person. Naruto ignored her because he thought she was scared of him of him like everyone else. Because why else would she be hiding behind things and watching him?
It wasn't until much later, when she saved Naruto from himself, that he knew why. It was then he realized that she, Hinata, was like his guardian angel. Hinata was a ray of light breaking the constant darkness that was his life.
Hinata is Naruto's hope, hope that things will be better one day.
And to be completely honest, Naruto didn't care how long that took. Because as long as he had her, he'd be okay.
