"Well, I guess this is farewell, huh?" Midna sighed, watching myself and Link. "Light and shadow can't mix, as we all know. But... never forget that there's another world bound to this one."

"Shadow and light are two sides to the same coin..." I commented. "One cannot exist without the other. I know now the reason the goddesses left the Mirror of Twilight in this world... they left it because it was their design that we should meet." I sighed. "Yes... that is what I believe."

"Zelda..." she replied, looking me directly in the eyes with her sharply red eyes. "Your words are kind, and your heart is true. If all in Hyrule are like you... then maybe you'll do all right."

A dismal wind blew my hair slightly in my face as Midna strode away from us smoothly. The magic stairs to the portal created by the Mirror of Twilight appeared before her as she stopped for a moment to look at us.

"Thank you..." she noted. It was so soft and sweet I couldn't help but think it was meant especially for Link.

Then she added, "Well, the princess spoke truly: as long as that mirror's around, we could meet again..." she trailed off as if there was something more she needed to add, but couldn't bring herself to say it.

"Link..." she whispered, as a lone, glowing, golden tear escaped her eye and floated away from her. Her hand made a brisk movement and she pushed it away.

"I-"

But Link stopped her, racing up and grabbing her in a tight hug.

I heard her whisper something, so quietly I wasn't sure if I was imagining it, but it sounded like,

"I love you, Link."

I smiled as he grasped her hand tightly, and kissed her for all it was worth.

"Thank you, Midna," he whispered.

There we go, chums! Hope you liked it! Much fluff!
So I just realized that neither of the links I had here work. So, if you want to see the artwork, Rosemei's and mine, send me a message. Or look at the pic that's paired with this fanfic! That's Rosemei's version. I just colored it.
