Twilight of the Pharaoh
Prologue: Musing of the Gods
An old man of obvious Egyptian descent sighed as he sunk in to his golden throne. His right eye was like a hawk's or falcons and images from past, present and future could some times be seen reflected in it, he wore golden robes that the light bounce off of covering the room in light and he carried a golden sceptre in one hand. The man stared at the doorway awaiting some one or something to come through it. This man was Ra, sun god and head of the Egyptian pantheon.
It had been millennia since their fall, known to them as the Twilight of the Gods. As people stopped believing in them there powers and presence on earth started to fade until they were eventually totally banished to a pocket dimension. Now their countries were filled with Christians, Muslims, Jews and other religions, the only one that remains in the heart of people of then in old tales was the Hindu pantheon.
However, lately they had been slowly regaining power, due to their cults becoming more active for some reason and the events with the spirit of the Millennium puzzle and his friends. The pantheon had watched the events unfold and even through in trials to test the group, but as they persevered the Egyptian gods powers grew none more then Ra's and Set's.
The sun god's power had been waning lately and Ra knew why. For his power partial came from light and the strongest source of light that believed in him was betrayed and was losing that light and thus the supreme god of the Egyptians was losing his, while Set gained power from the shadows and strife of the world. Ra was still more powerful then the God of Destruction but he feared when his power waned and Set's grew enough that the god would through a coup against Ra and the rest of the Pantheon to establish himself Supreme God of Egypt. The sun god's all Seeing Eye watched the betrayal of his light focusing on a small tri-coloured hair boy.
"Brooding on the past, does no good for you." A smooth voice called up and Ra looked up in to the present. Set hadn't taken his aardvark headed form instead preferring to appear as a deeply black man dressed in some-what regal attire. The lord of beasts approached the god's throne bowing to Ra's power rather then any respect for the god. "You summoned me my lord." The word summoned rolling of Set's tongue like it was acid burning away his pride and dignity.
Noting the ton of the god of chaos Ra nodded. "I am sure you are aware of the events surrounding the Pharaoh, his Hikari and their friends." Set just stared at Ra, since it was either a rhetorical or a stupid question. They had all been watching the adventures of Yugi, Yami and their group even him, Set the God of chaos, storms, the desert, war and foreign lands.
Ra beckoned the other god closer, Set approached wearily but Ra just whispered his plan in the God of Chaos' ear. A smirk spread across the dark man's face as he listened to the Sun God's idea. 'Well Ra I'm surprised. I didn't think you'd have it in you but I suppose you did set Sakhmet on the world." Set bowed before turning to leave the throne hall.
Author's Notes: Sorry it's so short even for a prologue but don't worry next chapters will be longer. Yes, I know I haven't updated my other stories in a long time but I will soon. Anyways please Review
