I was rewatching Markiplier's gameplay of SOMA when I remember the sad, depressing fate of the Simon left in the abyss, left all alone in the darkness. So I, being a real sucker for happy endings, thought what if the Simon in the abyss didn't need to be alone? In his gameplay, Markiplier didn't "kill" the Simon still trapped on Omicron. So, as the fate of the Simon left in the abyss' fate remains shrouded in uncertainty, why can't he find some way to return to Omicron and to the Simon left there so they don't have to be alone? In the game, the version of Catherine traveling with Simon stated she was an earlier copy so what if the two found a later copy and somehow gave her a body? So now, in this hypothetical ending, the story could go on about how the three try to survive trapped beneath the sea, face the horrors of WAU, and do so together, never needing to be alone? It may not be a happy ending, but it's still a more pleasant alternative than having both copies of Simon spend the rest of their lives all alone trapped (one on Omicron and the other in the abyss). What do you say?
