A/N: My take on what happens to Leo after the battle with Kauzel. This is a BL story, which you should have known after reading the manga. Leo/Kauzel. SPOILER for Koori's ending. Forgive me for any grammatical errors. Enjoy.
Disclaimer: I don't own Koori no Mamono no Monogatari. I don't own Leo and Kauzel. I wish I did though.

It wasn't a cold, freezing morning. It wasn't even snowing nor raining. In fact, it's very warm considering it's not afternoon yet. Then why is it that he felt so cold, so...alone. It's as though a large empty space exists in his heart and there's nothing that he can do to fill in the gap. Or maybe he just doesn't know what to fill the gap.
Leo walks along the village with a frown. He watches the people around him going through their daily life. He watches the way they smile and laugh at the simplest things. He wants to smile like that too. He wants to laugh like that too. It's not like he's a gloomy person. He's famous for his cheerful attitude in the temple. Most people like him, at least he thinks so. He enjoys talking, playing and practicing with the monks and his friends. It's just that...it's not enough.
As he passes a man scooping his son up into his arms, he can't help but feels a bit jealous. The look of content that the man has on his face while talking to his son, the way the little boy laugh at his father's joke, he envy them all. As he continues to stare at them from a distance, the vision changes slowly into a man with long, dark hair and he has a scar on one side of his face.
Suddenly, he was brought back into reality as someone bumps into him causing him to lose his balance. The stranger apologizes profusely and continues running towards the next junction. Leo turns back towards the people he was watching but the vision he had was gone. What were left were the father and son approaching a woman who seems to be the mother of the little boy. Feeling a bit awkward, he turns back towards the temple and walks a bit faster.
The only question left running through his head is, "Who was that man?"
