This poem is for fans of Malorie Blackman. I'm only halfway through Checkmate at the mo. Do they have a Noughts and Crosses section on here? I didn't think they did. Well, if I find one it'll obviously be uploaded into that section
This poem is from Sephy's point of view. Hope you like it! Read my other stories if you're fans of vamps and aliens! (LOL!)

Here she is
Warm and bright
Laughing in my silky sight
Giggling for an instant
Chuckling like me
Isn't she beautiful?
My baby and me

Carefully placing her in a silky crib
Bought by Mother on a shopping trip
Never before have I seen my girl
Look at me as if the whole world
Was wrapped round her fingers deliciously
And yes, Callum, she does look like me

But when she smiles and her head tips back
My mind seems to be taken aback
Because there I see in that coffee-coloured face
Celebration Park and our sacred space
Digging our toes into the private sand
Of the beach that was of my family's land

All this I get from one simple grin
Callum, you're closer now than you ever have been
And I know deep down she's you in my heart
Nothing now can ever keep us apart

Look at our daughter
Isn't she simply the best?
I'm hugging her now
Close to my chest
Squeezing her tightly so we're merging together
Bound in life through to forever

And look at her, Callum
Won't she simply be
The perfect resemblance
Of you and me?
