Description: Oneshot with Jason/Tess. He finds her outside and they have a talk.

Disclaimer: I don't own Camp Rock or any of the characters.

Tess sat out by the lake after Final Jam, she wanted to be away from everybody. She felt like everyone hated her now, it was probably true.

Suddenly it sounded like someone was coming. She turned around to see Jason coming her way.

"Hey." Jason waved.

"Hi..." Tess replied, turning back around.

"I really liked your song." Jason complimented. "I voted for you to win."

"Thanks." Tess half-smiled.

Jason sat down next to her. "Yeah, if you didn't fall I think you would've won."

"Thanks...for reminding me." Tess responded.

"Sorry I just thought you were really good." Jason explained. "So why aren't you at the after party with your friends?"

"What friends?" Tess questioned.

"You must have a lot of friends." Jason pointed out.

Tess shook her head. "I was too much of a snob. Everyone hates me.."

"I don't hate you." Jason reminded her. "I think you're a good singer. Hey! I know the winner gets to record with Shane, but what if you record a song with me?"

"That would be cool." Tess smiled. "So where are your bandmates? Shouldn't you be with them?"

"I think Nate had to call our managers to set some stuff up. Shane went to go talk to his girl with the voice." Jason explained. "Who knew that the girl would be right there the whole time and he didn't know it?" He laughed.

"Yeah.." Tess replied.

"He'd always call us and talk about some Mickey girl and then about some other girl. It's funny." Jason added.

The two heard footsteps coming their way and they both turned. TJ Tyler stood their looking at her daughter. "Tess, can I talk to you?"

"Sure." Tess shrugged. Then she looked at Jason.

"Sorry." Jason got up and left, but he stood behind a tree and watched.

"What did you want?" Tess asked.

"I want to know what happened up there." TJ responded.

"Mom, I was trying my hardest. I wanted you to be proud of me." Tess answered.

"Well you should've stayed focused, don't get distracted. Who was that boy? Are you dating him?" TJ questioned.

"I don't want to hear this, I only see you a few times a year. Don't you understand that I was trying?" Tess asked, she was crying now.

TJ's cell phone rang. When she hung up, she looked at Tess. "Honey, I don't have time to argue, I have to be back on the tour bus. Ted said I had to leave as soon as it was done or we wouldn't make the show."

"Yeah, whatever." Tess replied.

"Bye." TJ sighed and walked away.

Jason came back out after her mom left and sat down next to Tess. "Are you ok?"

Tess looked up a little surprised. "I'm fine." She wiped her face with her sleeves.

"I heard you talking to your mom." Jason pulled her into his arm and gave her a hug. "I know how you feel..My dad's never around, that's why I live with Nate."

"Sucks, doesn't it?" Tess asked. "I live with my housekeeper and my home-school teacher."

"Yeah, but I'm here for you. You can call me anytime you need someone to talk to." Jason gave her his number.

"Thanks." Tess gave him a smile.

"Jason!" Nate called.

"What?" Jason asked.

"Oh, there you are." Nate walked closer. "The limo will be here to pick us up in about five minutes."

"Ok." Jason replied. He turned back to Tess when Nate went back inside.

"I guess I'll see you around." Tess said to him.

"I'll see you soon hopefully. Call me or text me whenever you want to talk." Jason responded.

"I will, thanks again." Tess added.

"Anytime." Jason stood up. He offered her his hand to help her up and then they walked into the party together.

I had this idea after I watched Camp Rock the other night, so I just started writing it. I'm not sure if I liked how it turned out, but leave a review and let me know how it was.
