Speechless

A/N: I've never written a songfic before, but this just kind of popped into my head. Just a short little thing about Remus and Tonks, who I admit, didn't like at first but now realise are really great together. I'm not sure if it makes that much sense, but worth a go, right? This is based off the song 'Speechless' by Lady GaGa.

I can't believe what you said to me,

Last night we were alone,

You threw your hands up,

You gave up

Nymphadora Tonks sat at the table of her kitchen. Her hands were in her mouse-brown hair and she looked like she was in between frustration and tears. She had had another row with him last night.

I can't believe how you looked at me

How could he not understand? She didn't care if he was poor; she had a job. She didn't care if he was 'too old' because he wasn't. And she didn't care if he was dangerous because he isn't. There were no words for this. For once in her life, Tonks had been left speechless.

You've left me speechless, so speechless.

How was it possible that she had let this happen? She let herself fall for the one person she couldn't have; and didn't want her anyway. It was too hard to keep going back and forth with this. He couldn't play with her heart anymore. She couldn't take the 'I love you' one moment and 'I'm not good enough for you' the next. She wished he wasn't so bloody selfish.

Her usually bubblegum pink hair had reverted to mousy brown recently, and people kept inquiring as to why that was. Tonks had been careful to avoid Remus' eyes when she had said nothing.

I'll never talk again, you've left me speechless.

Tonks didn't know if she would ever be able to talk again. She wasn't going to just get over him.

And I'll never love again.

She didn't know if she'd ever love again. But she didn't want to. She didn't need to. She loved him. And she knew deep down that he loved her.

He was avoiding her now; again after she had proclaimed to him that she didn't care about all his excuses. She had left him speechless. He had left her speechless. And with no reason to ever talk again.

Will you ever talk again?

Oh boy why you so speechless

You've left me speechless, so speechless,

Some men may follow me,

But you'd choose any girl but me

Why you so speechless?
