Harry and Ron sat at the edge of the common room, away from the clusters of other Gryffindors, who were all gathered in the centre of the room near the fire place. Out here on the edge, their conversation would not be over-heard.
Ginny and Hermione were in the girls dorm, sitting on Ginny's bed and sharing a box of chocolate frogs. Happy to have the dorm to themselves, the girls were having a DMC*.
Unknown to them, they were the subject of each others conversation. If only they knew….
"Hes got a girlfriend Gin" "But.."
"But nothing! He's with her and I'm just going to grow with Crookshanks!" she blurted out, hugging the cat close to her chest.
She screeched and lept from her owners lap across to Ginny's. "Scratch that, I won't even have a cat," she giggled.
"The two of us can be crazy old witches together, itll be ok!"
"Ginny, don't be silly, you and Harry will end up together, theres so much history between you guys, something has to happen."
"I used to think that, with everything that happened, that it would be all be for nothing, but I've finally realised, that was to save a friendship not to start a relationship. He's with Cho, and hes happy, that's what matters. I'm ok with that, he'll always be one of my closest friends but nothing more is going to happen."
Ginny surprised herself with what she had just said, it had come straight from her heart, she really was ok, even if part of her would always love him.
"Well maybe Im over Ron, maybe Im ok wuth him being with Lavender!"
"Well are you?" Ginny asked her friend.
"No" she whimpered back, flopping back onto the bed and grabbing a pillow from behind her for comfort.
"I wish I was too," she said into her pillow.
"Harry, its Hermione! She would never go out with me, nothings going to happen there."
"I wouldn't be so sure Ron."
"She's smart, pretty, she's perfect, bloody hell I haven't a chance."
"You're starting to sound like me now, about Ginny."
"Ugh Harry, that's my sister! Wait that is my sister, don't you mean Cho?"
"No Ron I mean Ginny."
""But what about Cho, your girlfriend Harry?"
"This does not leave this room ok?"
"Ok"
"Well, I'll always have something for Ginny – I know shes your sister but I have to tell someone - yes I really like Cho, but…. Then theres Ginny."
