This is a sequel to Finding Hope, which is a branch off of the story that was originally done by TheDoctorMulder. She's been amazing to help me throughout this process. Please go read her story, "Starting Over" until Chapter 28. That's where mine begin.

I had SO MUCH FUN writing Finding Hope. I have had so many lovely reviews and encouragement that I wanted to continue the story. Lots of adventure awaits our newly restored Time Lord and his Rose!

Chapter 1 - A New Reality

The sunlight beamed through the windows of the room the Doctor was sleeping in at the White House. He rubbed his face and groaned as he rolled over. He stretched his arm out to find he was all alone in the bed again. He sighed. Rose must have gotten up to go run.

He rubbed his beard and coughed a bit, as he lay back on the pillow. It was 9:12 in the morning. They had went to bed at 6:03 that morning. The kidnapping, rescue of Tony and Jacob, himself getting shot, dying, and returning as a full-on Time Lord had made for an eventful night. He had tried to warn Rose about that damn tux that she insisted he wear to the State Dinner.

Maybe now, she would believe him when he told her it was cursed. He doubted it, though.

He got up and went to the bathroom. He brushed his teeth and noticed his beard had grown more than it normally did in the few hours he had been asleep. His chest still tingled. He guessed it was from whatever the Bad Wolf had done to him to change him from a human into a Time Lord. He brushed his teeth as he rubbed his chest, thinking about the night before.

He had taken Rose to their private island to celebrate him being himself again. Also, to celebrate that he was no longer sick. He had never told Rose that his rubbish, human body wouldn't allow his Time Lord conscious to live in it. It had slowly began to destroy his human body, a piece at a time. After everything he had put her through, he couldn't tell her he was dying. He knew it would have crushed her. The only relief he had from the pain he felt at the time was when he was with her. When he was laughing with her, everything was alright. "Doctor alright, " as Rose called it. But, alright.

But now, the Bad Wolf had returned him to a Time Lord after his fatal shooting. He wasn't completely sure if he had died last night, or if he was just very close. Neither one mattered. He was alright now. He was alive. He was a Time Lord. He was with his Rose.

And then there was Genie. This precious little, four year old that had lost her parents. Her mum, Melissa, had left her to Rose. She reminded the Doctor so much of himself that it was unreal. She had asked him if it was alright to call him Daddy.

"Daddy." he remembered her little voice. He smiled as he rinsed his mouth out.

He looked at his beard and decided to give it a trim and shape it up.

Time Lords typically didn't wear a beard, but he still had his. He wondered if he could shave it off. He decided to wait and get Rose and Genie's opinion on it before he did anything. Not only that, but he was pretty sure he would look strange with a tan face and white where his beard used to be.

He finished up his beard. Looking back in the mirror, he seemed satisfied with his work. He smacked the cabinet playfully.

He spun around and turned on the shower. He had taken a shower with Rose when they first returned last night, but felt as if he had been all sweaty now. He undressed and stepped in the shower.

He was running his hands through his hair under the water as he considered how he would tell Rose what happened last night. What she had done to turn him into a Time Lord. He stood under the hot water and let it run across his shoulders and back as he thought.
