A parent never stops worrying about their child, especially when the child in question has goals that breaks the mold.

Most of this storry was written a couple of months back but it ended up on the backburner for some reason.

I do not own Zootopia or any of its characters they belong to Disney

Her

From the moment she was born she was the most adventurous of the litter. When those eyes saw the world for the first time she was off exploring. As she grew, no nest or cradle could keep her in place. Short grey fur and violet eyes never stopped darting from place to place. Her eagerness and boldness often got her into situations beyond her control. Everything from gathering carrots to playing with her siblings became an adventure.

I hoped that as she grew older she would mellow out, but her determination never wavered even in the face of doubt.

Both her father and I feared for her. She could get seriously hurt or worse. But that was always her, head first into danger with a code of moral and bravery that could not be contained. Her first brush with real danger was a reminder of what could happen. Our family have always lived by the idiom 'better safe than sorry'. But she fought it tooth and nail, if it meant reaching her dream.

I loved that kit and seeing her stand there ready to leave to chase her dream filled me with a mixture of happiness and sadness. One last embrace and we watched her leave disappearing into the distance and into the unknown.

None of us could stop worrying, she was far away in the city of her dreams. But when we called it appear that her dream was more of a nightmare. The adventure she always dreamed of was still an illusion and for all we knew it could have stayed that way.

Weeks passed and horrible news reached the Burrows, attacks and fear was consuming the city of her dream and defeated she returned home. Her eyes lacked the shine that before was always present, slow movement and a hushed tone when talking, she was a shell of herself.

She was always different, she was never the standard bunny, oh so stubborn she could be. But that broken bunny was soon gone and a glint of our Judy was back, before we knew it she was racing back to Zootopia, who knew what she was going to do but she would not be stopped.

All of our answers came a few days later. She bloomed and grew after the ewe Bellwether got convicted. Our strong lively Judy was back and had a bounce in her steps, so happy perhaps even more so now than when she got her badge.

I am proud of her, all of us are. The first rabbit cop, Judy Hopps.
