Since she left, he spent most of his time staring blankly at the front door.
Waiting.
Sometimes, he wondered if he mixed up his times.
Where was she?
When was she coming back?
He had barely fallen asleep on the couch when the familiar turn of the deadbolt hit his ears.
Launching himself off the couch towards the door, he waited.
This could be it.
Maybe it was her.
When the door opened, Grissom walked through to a now familiar heartbreaking sight.
"I know boy. I miss her too," he said as he bent down to scritch behind Hank's ears.
