A/N: My neighbor challenged me to write something that wasn't dark-angst. This is what I came up with, so sorry if it sucks.
Hogsmede Drabble: The Shrieking Shack.
"The most haunted building in Britain. Yeah right; stupid villagers can't tell the difference between ghost and werewolves," Rose scoffed. It was her first time to Hogsmede, and she decided that she'd see the Shack for herself. Her mum had told her the whole story of course, but she still liked to believe it was haunted; the air of mystery made it fun. She was just getting lost in her thoughts when she heard,
"BOO!"
Rose screamed bloody murder and whipped her wand out, pointing it in the direction the noise had come from.
"Whoa! Rose, it's just me, Scorp. Put the wand down." Scorpius had his hands up in surrender, laughing.
Rose sheathed her wand, "Scorp…that was not funny!"
"Yes it was. Just not to you."
Albus came up the hill behind him, short of breath. "Wait- up- you- guys."
"Al! You're a Seeker! Get in shape!" Rose and Scorpius said together, chuckling.
Albus pouted and walked over to the barbed-wire fence, "So this is it huh? The Shrieking Shack. Where Remus…"
"Yeah." Rose said. Even though the two of them never knew Remus Lupin, he was Teddy's dad, so he was almost an Uncle, considering how close Teddy was to the family.
Scorpius started looking uncomfortable. His father being Draco Malfoy, he wasn't as open to being as understanding as these two. I mean, blood-traitors and Muggle-borns were fine in his book, but he still didn't like werewolves particularly. "Uh…you guys want to go somewhere else?" he asked, rocking on his heels.
Rose was smart enough to see the discomfort on his face and said, "Yeah. Let's go to Honeyduke's."
With that, the three best friends walked back down the hill, narrowly avoiding snowballs from the war James and Fred were having.
