Hello everyone! So at first, I was going to write a HOA fanfic with Sibuna and new characters called 'House of New Students', but then season 3 came out so I decided to wait for that to finish before I started the fanfic. Well it finished and I liked the ending and I didn't want to change it. So instead, I've decided to make a fanfic BASED on HOA. It will have some parts that are very similar to HOA, but please don't hate on that, because I'm telling you now. Anyways, this is like a Roman version of HOA (I was going to do Greek style, but that's been done a few times but I THINK no one's done Roman so yea...). The characters are different, or at least I think so, and they are not really based on the original characters. Well the one thing that is the same is how the house looks. In this first chapter not much happens, that's because in this chapter I'm only trying to introduce all the characters. Well I hope you enjoy!

Jupiter Academy is a boarding school in England. Today it seemed very busy, as it was the start of new school year. There are 12 houses at this school: Juno, Neptune, Ceres, Minerva, Phoebus, Diana, Mars, Venus, Vulcan, Mercury, Vesta and Bacchus.
This story is mainly about Mercury House and its secrets.

Inside Mercury House a chubby, short woman with curly dark brown hair, warm brown eyes and pale skin was setting up a table in the living room with all sorts of candy and cakes. She was humming to herself while doing so. Her name is Daphne and she is the housemother of Mercury House. Upstairs, Caesar Garnock, the caretaker of Mercury House, was pacing around his study and he seemed to be be thinking hard.

The front door opened and 3 people walked in. The first one was a short Asian looking girl with long black hair, chocolate brown eyes and slightly tanned skin. She was wearing blue skinny jeans, silver flats, a white blouse and her hair was in a side braid over her left shoulder. Her name is Tara Lambert. She is a smart, shy girl who has been living in Mercury house since she was 12 (she is now 16).
The next person was a tall boy with wavy brown hair, hazel eyes and pale skin. He was wearing a black t-shirt, dark blue jeans and black shoes. This boy's name is Matthew Ridgeway, otherwise known as Matt. He is known for being cocky and funny. He started going to Jupiter Academy at the age of 14, and this is his third year at the school.
The last person was another girl. She had very pale skin with a few freckles, wavy strawberry blonde hair and bright blue eyes. She was wearing black skinny jeans, a grey off the shoulder shirt and grey sandals. Her name is Ciara Keegan if you were wondering. She is like a little ball of energy and when you are around her there is never a moment of silence. She began this school at the same time as Matt.

"Daph? We're here!" exclaimed Ciara once they had all brought in their suitcases.

Daphne walked out of the living room and straight to where the three teens were standing. She hugged each one separately, and they gladly hugged her back as they saw her as their 2nd mother.

"Oh welcome back, dearies! It's so good to have you back. Why don't you wait in the living room for the rest?"

"Ok Daph!" Ciara said and the three of them walked into the living room and sat down in one of the couches.

"Oh! I almost forgot to tell you! There will be two new kids coming in today, so please make them feel welcome." they simply nodded and started talking about their summer.

Ten minutes later the door opened again and another 3 teenagers walked in. The first was a girl with black hair which was held back by a green headband, dark brown eyes framed by glasses and fair skin. She was wearing white shorts with a brown belt, a green blouse, a brown scarf and brown leather boots. Her name is Kristine Valdemar and she is Tara's roommate. She has been coming to this school since the age of 13, but she didn't live in Mercury House until the year before (she used to live at Mars House).

Behind her two boys walked in. One was tall with blonde hair, blue eyes and pale skin. His name is Noel Palmer and the other boy's name is Collin Silverton. Collin is much shorter than Noel, has tan skin, chocolate brown hair and eyes and he wears glasses. The two boys have been roommates and best friends since they started school together at the age of 10. Noel was wearing a graphic orange t-shirt, dark wash jeans and black sneakers. Collin was wearing khaki shorts, simple black t-shirt and his signature black watch.

The three walked in and were greeted by Ciara, Matt and Tara. Then they all walked back in the living room and started talking. After 20 minutes of talking Noel asked:

"Hey were are Lea and Justin?"

"Late like always. I'm not surprised." replied Collin with an eye roll.

"You know I wouldn't be surprised if they walked in together arguing like always." said Tara. Before anyone could respond with agreement or disagreement, the door was opened and instantly you could hear them arguing.

"Correct like always, Tara." Kristine answered with a laugh.

They all stood up and went to greet their two friends.

Lea Tanner has long wavy brown hair with a side fringe almost covering her right eye, honey eyes and fair skin. She was wearing ripped jean shorts, a white singlet with an open plaid shirt on top, brown ankle boots, a gold necklace with a turquoise gemstone and a few bracelets on her right wrist. She has been in this house since the age of 11, being the third person (after Noel and Collin) to have lived in the house for the longest. She is quite smart but she tends to get in trouble a fair bit.

Justin Oakley is a tall boy with spiky dirty blonde hair, fair skin and hazel eyes. He is wearing a blue button-up with the sleeves rolled up, black jeans, black high tops and a brown leather wristband. He only started attending Jupiter Academy the year before. He is known for getting into trouble a lot, teasing people (his favourite target being Lea) and getting into big argument with Lea.

"That's just stupid!" they heard Justin say.

Lea didn't seem to be able to think of a come back so she said: "You're stupid."

"So what are you guys fighting about this time?" Kristine asked to get their attention.

Lea opened her mouth to reply but she was interrupted by Collin. "Don't even answer that. It's probably something stupid like always."

"Hey! I take offence to that." Lea said with hand over her heart. Everyone laughed and soon she joined in.

They walked back into the living room. The living room had 2 couches that could fit 3 people each, one couch that could fit 2 people and 3 armchairs. There was a table in the middle where all the candy and cakes were.

On the three-people couch facing the door sat Tara and Lea chatting about their summer. Tara and Lea were really close, given that they were the only girls living in the house until Ciara came 2 years after Tara. Next to them, on the other three-people couch sat Ciara, Matt and Kristine. Ciara and Matt were talking animatedly, but Kristine seemed to be day dreaming. On the other side, across the room from Ciara, Matt and Kristine, was Justin laying on the two-people couch talking with Noel and Collin who were occupying two of the armchairs.

"Everyone pay attention!" said Caesar in deep and loud voice. Everyone went quiet quickly since they knew well enough not to get on Caesar's bad side.

"There are new students coming in today, so there will be a few changes to the rooms arrangement. Mr Ridgeway, you will no longer share a room with Mr Oakley, you will move to Mr Palmer and Mr Silverton's room at the end of the boys corridor. Ms Lambert and Ms Valdemar, you two will share the first room upstairs next to the bathroom. And Ms Keegan and Ms Tanner, you will share the room upstairs across from the attic. That is all. Carry on." with that he turned around and went upstairs back to his office.

"Well, you guys start unpacking while I start supper." Daphne told them.

"Daph! It's not fair! Why can't me and Tara keep sharing a room? We've been sharing a room for four years!" Lea complained.

"I'm sorry Lea, there's nothing I can do about it. But now you will have the biggest room!" Daphne replied trying to cheer her up.

"Yeah, Lesser, stop complaining." said Justin, using his nickname for her that he knew she hated. Lea crossed her arms and glared at him.

"Oh shut it, Ferret." she replied with her own nickname for him. She turned away from him and towards Ciara. "Well, I guess we're roomies now." she said to her with a smile.

"I guess we are." she replied smiling too. "Common lets check out the room!" Ciara grabbed her arm and dragged her upstairs to their new room.

About 45 minutes later almost everyone was back in the living room doing their own thing. Noel and Collin were playing video games on one of the three-people couches, Justin was listening to music on one of the armchairs, Matt was just laying down on the two-people couch looking bored, Tara was reading on another armchair and Kristine was in the kitchen helping Daphne with supper. Soon enough Lea and Ciara come down laughing about something. Once they reached the living room, Ciara went to sit next to Matt (she forced him to sit, so she could sit on the couch too) and Lea went to sit between Noel and Collin on the three-people couch that was on the right side of the room.

Noel and Collin stopped playing and they started talking with Lea. They talked for about five minutes until they heard a knock on the door.

"I've got it!" yelled Daphne from the kitchen. She walked through the living room to get to the door. When she walked back in she was followed by a girl.

"Everyone, this is Savannah. Savannah Cuthbert." she said motioning to the girl who was now next to her.

Savannah had pale skin with a few freckles on her nose that were barely noticeable, bright green eyes and straight black hair that was in a French braid. She was wearing a black flowy skirt, a navy blue knitted sweater and black Toms.

"Hello everyone." she said with a shy wave. There was a chorus of "hey's" and "hello's" from everyone. Ciara, being the one always excited about everything, stood up and moved closer to Savannah.

"Hi Savnnah! I'm Ciara, nice to meet you. And welcome to the family!" she said gesturing to everyone in the room.

Starting from Savannah's left everyone introduced themselves.

"Hello, I'm Tara" she said with a smile.

"Matthew Ridgeway, but please call me Matt." he winked at her and she blushed a little bit.

"Justin." he simply said with a small nod.

"Kristine. Pleasure." she said with a small smile. She was now sitting alone on the three-person couch facing the door.

"Collin at your service." he said while saluting. Savannah let out a small chuckle of amusement.

"I'm Lea." she smiled at Savannah.

"Otherwise known as Lesser." interrupted Justin.

"Ferret." Lea glared at him. Savannah looked between the two as if she was studying a new animal species.

Lea realised that Noel hadn't introduced himself so she looked to her left and saw that he was staring off into space, probably daydreaming (he seemed to do that a lot), so she nudged him to bring him out of his trance.

"Introduce yourself." she whispered to him when he looked at her questionably.

"Oh right. I-I'm Noel." he said embarrassed that he had been caught daydreaming.

"Well now that you know everyone's name, come sit and talk with us!" Ciara said excitedly while grabbing Savannah's arm.

"Calm down Ciara!" Daphne said before Ciara could drag Savannah to sit with her. "Why don't you girls show her to her room first?"

"Ughh. Okay fine. If we HAVE to." she said in fake exasperation with a smile on her face. She was about to drag Savannah upstairs but suddenly stopped when she remembered something.

"Wait. Which is her room?" she asked confusedly.

"She will be sharing a room with you and Lea." Daphne replied.

"Wait, what?! Why can't she room with Tara and Kristine?" Lea jumped up when she heard that.

"Your room is much bigger than theirs. There's more space in your room." Daphne responded to her.

"Exactly. If there's another person in there, then it won't seem bigger than Tara and Kristine's room." Lea said in a 'duh' voice.

"That doesn't even make sense. The room will still be the same size no mTter how many people are there. Do you ever actually listen to what you're saying or do you just don't think and say random stuff?" Justin asked with a smirk.

"Oh shut it, Ferret" she spat.

"Oh come on Lea, don't be selfish." Daphne tried reasoning with her.

"Oh I don't mind. I can share a room with someone else if she wants me to." Savannah interfered shyly.

"No, no. It's not that I don't want to share a room with you! It's just that... Umm... Well... Uhh... Nevermind." she tried to explain making weird hand gestures until she realised that it didn't make sense and that Justin was right (not that she would ever admit it). Justin chuckled seeing that she realised he was right but she ignored him.

"You know what, come on. I'll show you our room, and give you a tour on the way." Lea said smiling at Savannah.

She lead Savannah out of the living room and into the hall.

"That's the boys' rooms down there." She said pointing to her left and down the hall. "Oh and the cellar is that door under the stairs. We are not allowed in there by the way." She said pointing to the small old-looking door.

They started walking up the stairs.

"Oh and the laundry room and kitchen are down that same hall to the left -the doors to the right are the boys' rooms and their bathroom- and that room you see up there," she pointed to the office upstairs. "is Caesar's study. Don't go in there either. Oh and piece of advice, if you wanna survive at Mercury House, never, and I mean NEVER get on Caesar Garnock's bad side." Lea said with a meaningful look.

"Who is Ceasar?" Savannah asked while taking everything in.

"Oh he's the caretaker of the house. He is really weird and he scares most people." Savannah nodded in understanding.

They reached the top of the stairs and Lea went right and opened the door leading to the girls' corridor.

"So this is the girls's corridor. This is Tara and Kristine's room," Lea said pointing to the first door on the left. "that's an empty room," she pointed to the first door on the right. "that's another empty room -it was Tara and I's room for four years, well it was mine for five-" Lea said as she pointed to the second door on the left (which was in the middle of the hall). "that's the bathroom," she pointed to the door across her old room. "that's the attic -not allowed in there either-" she said once they reached the end hall and pointed to a door down a small corridor to the right. "and this is our room." she said opening the last door on the left and across from the attic.

"Like Daphne said, you are sharing this room with Ciara and I." Savannah once again only nodded taking everything in.

They walked in and Lea closed the door behind them.

"This is Ciara's bed." She said pointing to the bed on the left corner close to the door. The bed had a white cover with black hearts on it. There were a lot of pillows of bright neon colours on the bed, in fact, most of Ciara's side had bright colours, which represented very well her bright personality. Ciara's side (which was mostly the whole left wall) had many quotes and it also had many Disney things.

"And that's my bed." Lea said while pointing to the bed across the room from the door. Her bed had a white cover, but you could barely tell it was white because it was covered in many paint splashes of many different colours. Lea's side was most of the wall opposite to the door. She had many pictures of what seemed to be her family, herself and the other people from the house looking both recent and old. She had a lot of paintings and drawings too.

"Well I suppose your bed while be there." she pointed to the right wall. "That wall will probably be your side."

She then walked across the room and sat on her bed. Savannah walked around the room looking at every detail. She then stopped at a wall Lea had full of pictures.

"So Savannah... Hmm... Savannah... That's too long. Mind if I call you Sevie instead?" Lea asked.

Savannah chuckled and nodded her head. "Sure, that's cool."

"Okay. So, Sevie. Why are you here?"

Savannah, or now Sevie, turned around to look at Lea. "I'm sorry?" She asked. She didn't look offended, she looked more curious.

"Well everyone that's here, is here for a reason. Noel is here because he has too many siblings and his parents couldn't take care of all of them. Collin got a scholarship and his parents don't have much money so he accepted it. Tara is here because her parents have their own business and can't always take care of her. Kristine's parents didn't want her and her sister in the house. Ciara used to get bullied so her parents sent her here. Matt's dad died and his mom went into depression. Justin is here because he was offered a scholarship. And I'm here because my parents travel a lot and I got tired of changing schools so they sent me here. So... What's your reason?" Lea finished her huge rant.

"Oh. Well... uhh... my family was having a lot of problems. My brother even went into depression. My parents didn't want that to happen to me so... here I am."
Sevie finished. You could see the sadness in her eyes.

Lea knew all too well that now was a good time to change the subject. She cleared her throat awkwardly.

"Well anyways. I'm sure Daphne and Caesar will bring your bed here during dinner. You can just leave your stuff against the wall."

"Ok thanks." Sevie pulled her two suitcases and put them against the right wall.

"So Lea, what's up with you and Justin?" she asked with and eyebrow raised.

"The Ferret? He annoys the crap out of me! And he just seems to love doing that." Lea replied with an annoyed voice.

"Well okay... if you say so..." Sevie said with a shrug.

"Ah!" exclaimed Lea. She then threw one of her pillows at Sevie and she started laughing.

"I'm just kidding! Relax." Sevie said between laughs.

"Whateves, Sevie. Just watch your back, eh?" she said with a smirk. They both started laughing now.

Lea stood up, grabbed Sevie's wrist and started walking out.

"Come on, let's go back to the living room." she said still laughing a bit.

They went downstairs and they sat on a three-person couch with Ciara and they started talking.

A few minutes later there was a knock on the door.

"I'll get it!" yelled Daphne from the kitchen, for the second time that day.

"Another newbie?" asked Noel. "How many are we getting this year?!"

No one had time to reply because in that moment Daphne came in with a tall boy with pale skin, well-kept brown hair and warm brown eyes. He was wearing blue jeans, black sneakers and a teal t-shirt.

Lea turned away from the conversation she was having with Ciara and Sevie to look at who was coming in.

"Hunt?!" she asked surprised.

The boy turned to her and a smile grew on his face. "Lea!"

Lea stood up quickly and went to hug the boy.

"Oh my god, it's so good to see you again! Why didn't you tell me you were coming?!" she asked once she let go of him.

"Your parents wanted it to be a surprise." he replied happily.

Someone cleared their throat behind them causing them to remember that there were other people in the room.

"Lea, care to introduce us?" asked Collin.

"Oh right! Everyone this is Hunter Canfield. We are childhood best friends." Lea replied smiling at Hunter.

Pointing to each person (starting from the left) she said: "Hunt these is Noel, Collin, Matt, The Ferret,-"

"Justin." he interrupted.

"- Tara, Kristine, Ciara and Savannah. Sevie is new too." she finished looking back at Hunter.

"Hello everyone!" he waved to everyone and they waved back.

"Well Hunter, why don't you go start to unpack your things, supper will be ready soon. You will be sharing a room with Justin. Justin! Show him to your room."

Justin lazily got up and motioned for Hunter to follow him out of the room. Just before Hunter left the room Lea whispered to him: "Good luck. You'll need it if you are sharing a room with him."

He chuckled and whispered back: "Thanks, but I think I'll be fine." and he started following Justin once again.

"Whatever you say. Don't say I didn't warn you." she said in a taunting voice.

Hunter just laughed and shook his head.

He saw Justin go into the first room on the right side of the corridor to his left, so he followed him there.

"Well this is our room." Justin said motioning to the room with his arms outstretched. "The right side of the room is my side and the left side is yours. Make yourself at home."

And with that he walked over to his bed and layer down. Hunter made his way to his side and started unpacking

"So... you and Lea are good friends, huh?" Justin asked after a few moments of silence.

"Don't worry, we're like brother and sister, we would never like each other in that way." Hunter replied with a smirk looking up from his suitcase.

"I-I... Th-that's not what I meant!" Justin stuttered. "Anyways, I couldn't care less as to who Lesser likes." he finished satisfactorily.

"Okay, whatever you say man." Hunter replied with an amused smirk.

"Supper's ready!" Daphne yelled as she put the last plate on the long table. The table sat 10 people, four on each side and one on each end.

A few seconds later everyone came in and started sitting down. Everyone ate and talked happily. None of them had a clue that this school year was going to be different from the others. The only thing left to ask is, will they realise that in time?

Okay, so I know that was probz a bit confusing (I know I would be confused if it wasn't my story), so I recommend that you read it a few times (that's what I do when I read stories with a lot of new characters). Oh by the way if you were wondering, this are the rooms:

Fabian and Eddie's- Justin and Hunter

Alfie and Jerome's- Noel, Collin and Matt

(from season 3) Amber, Mara and KT's- Ciara, Lea and Sevie

(from season 1) Amber and Nina's- Tara and Kristine

Please tell me what you think. Does it have potential? Is it too confusing? Is it worth continuing? I dunno, just tell me what you thought. Thank you!
