Lorelei and Rory were invited to the annual Gilmore Christmas Party.

Emily wanted Lorelei and Rory to come early than the guests.

"Lorelei, you look lovely. And you, Rory, where did you get that beautiful gown?" asked Emily, admiring her granddaughter's lovely red satin dress.

"Mom made it, isn't it pretty?" answered Rory as she twirrled.

"You mean that you made that dress?" asked surprised Emily looking at her daughter.

"Yep, I sure did. Mom, you look beautiful," said Lorelei, as she gave her mom a hug.

"Thank you, dear," and added "I didn't know that you sew?"

"Well, there is a lot of things that you don't know about me, mom," said Lorelei, pleased that her mom liked her handy work.

"I guess not," Emily acknowledged.

About two hours later, the guests arrived.

"Hey, Mary Elizabeth, isn't that Lorelei Gilmore, the new girl Rory's mother?" asked Jayne, pointing at an elegantly dressed Lorelei.

"Yeah, what's she doing here?" answered Mary Emlizabeth, digustingly with a little snort.

"I don't know," said Jayne.

"Doesn't she live at Stars Hollow? What's doing here at Emily Gilmore's party?" Mary Elizabeth snorted.

"Yeah, we're not her crowd, however she dressed pretty good though, you know," said Suzanne.

Emily was pretty upset at the snobby women talking about her daughter like she was some kind of dirt.

"Hello, ladies," said Emily Gilmore as she walked over to them.

"Oh, hello, Emily, lovely party," said Suzanne.

"Do you know that Lorelei person?" asked Jayne.

"Let me guess, you invited her because she shares your name?" asked Mary Elizabeth, and added, "yeah, she just don't seem to fit here, does she?"

"She seemed pretty fit to me," said Emily in a polite manner.

"You think so? Yeah, her gown's smashing, though," said Suzanne.

"I wonder where she got the money to pay for it," said Mary Elizabeth, laughing.

"You know that she's a single mother," said Jayne.

"Yeah, do you know that her daughter Rory is a scholarship student?" said Mary Elizabeth.

Emily was ready to explode.

"She belongs here more than any of you combined, you snobby little freaks," Emily exploded.

Gasp.

Lorelei ran up to her.

"Mom, calm down," she said, placing her hand on Emily's back.

"Mom?" the three of them cried out in unison.

"That's right, you little tweep, Lorelei is our daughter. And for your information, my granddaughter Rory is not a scholarship student. She belongs at Chilton more than your snobby miniatures. The only reason that they are in it is that you contribute to school. Civilize way of bribing?" thundered Emily.

When the party found out that Lorelei Gilmore was the daughter of Richard and Emily Gilmore, the three women, especially Mary Elizabeth, felt embarrassed for their behavior maybe for a few minutes, however, that few minutes for a snobby upper class idiots were worth a eternity.
