Toph Bei Fong did not cry. Not since she had become the strong, independant earth bending master that she is today.

She had only ever shed a tear 3 times in her life. Once, when she was eight, old enough to fully comprehend that she was different, that she could not be like other children, because she could not see. She wept for the loss of 'colour' in her world, and the fact that she would never, ever be able to see the beautful wonders of nature, her parents, her home.

The second time was when she had met Aang. Aang, who had shown her the value of freedom, who had made her feel as if she were flying. Aang, who showed her that she should not hide who she was. He had shown her a free life, she had tasted it. But only to have it snatched away again, causing another sobbing session.

And now, she sits on the muddy battle ground and weeps. No matter how much she tries, no matter how much concentration and focus she had, no matter how hard she digs her feet into the ground, the familiar, loved vibrations cannot be found.

She is numb to the world around her, deaf to the cries and screams, oblivious to the vibrations. She has lost all sense as she weeps tears of pain and sadness.

Twinkle Toes. Aang.

Gone. Vanished. Left without saying goodbye. His footsteps had gone, the ones she had been tracking while she fought. So now, she cries, not caring if she is struck down, if she dies. Because if she does, she can see him again.

A sadness she has never known fills her, accompanied a few minutes later by murderous rage. Standing, she sweeps the nearest fire nation soldier, crushing him in stone without a second thought. She feels his heart stop, and advances forward. Crushing, sweeping, killing. They are the only things on her mind as she walks through the hallways of the palace, toward the last place she had felt those light vibrations.

She bursts into the throne room, where a group of people, including Katara and Sokka are fighting the fire lord. She joins them, using the rage she is feeling to fuel her power.

"Combine you're attacks!" Katara shouts. "3...2...1!"

Toph gives everything she has into that final blow. She struggles for against the fire lord who is parrying their attack with a blast of fire. Suddenly, she feels the familiar footsteps, probably a bit lighter, and hears a laughter on the wind. Aang is here, helping them avenge his death. With a final push, Ozai lies dead on the floor, and everyone is crying, hugging eachother.

One day, Twinkles, Toph whispered into the wind, knowing it will reach his ears. We'll be together again.

AHHHHH! SAPPINESS! I'm in a really weird mood right now, a sad/happy/freaked/pained mood, and this is the product of all that. I know need a serious dossage of Taang fluff, and will go get some right now.
