A/N This is just a short outtake of how I think the encounter between Edward and Tanya would have gone when he fired her.

Edward

"Daisy, I want you to go straight up to your room. Mrs. Cope will bring you some dinner up in a little while, ok?"

"Yes, Daddy." She looks at me, her eyes wide and full of questions, before turning and running up the stairs. She is about half way up when she spins around to face me again, "Daddy, where are we gonna put my picture? Can I show Mrs. Cope?"

"We'll discuss it later," I reply. I have yet to decide what to do about the canvas. The last thing I want is for it to be lingering in my house, but I know that Daisy isn't going to let this go, and it's highly likely that she will want to show it to my parents. The last thing I need is them hounding me again about my parent skills, if I dispose of it and upset her.

"Mrs. Cope!" I shout. I instantly hear the patter of her slippers hitting the floor as she hurries to meet me.

"Shelly, there has been a small incident today, and as a result I feel that Tanya is no longer the right person to be caring for Daisy. I'm going to have to let her go, so I will need you to pitch in with her care until I find a replacement. Is this acceptable to you?"

"Of course, Edward. I love that little girl and would do anything for her. I only wish I was young enough to take on her care full time, but I'm just not up to it anymore. Would you like me to stay here for a couple of nights until you sort something else out?" She is so helpful and willing. She has such a big heart.

"If your husband wouldn't be too put out, that would be great. I have a replacement nanny in mind, and all being well, she will be moved in before too long. I appreciated your understanding and help."

"Your welcome, Edward. Where is Daisy now?"

"She's upstairs. I was hoping that you could take her up some food…" I'm stopped in my tracks by the sound of the gravel crunching in the driveway, as someone pulls up. Tanya's back.

"I'll be in my office. Can you send Tanya through, please?"

I stride towards my office and immediately pour myself a scotch in preparation for her arrival. I have the distinct feeling that this is not going to be easy, and I know Tanya has a flair for the dramatics. The clacking of her shoes on the hard wood alerts me of her imminent arrival, and I settle back into my desk chair.

Knock, knock.

"Come in."

I'm hoping my monotone, stern voice will warn her of her impending doom. She cautiously enters and it's evident immediately that she has been crying, but I can't bring myself to care. This women could have cost me everything today.

"Take a seat, Ms Denali."

She nervously totters over to the chair in front of my desk, on her sky high, entirely inappropriate heels.

"I can explain…" she begins, but I cut her off. There is really no need to drag this on any longer than needs be.

"There is nothing to explain. You lost my daughter, which in itself is inexcusable, but I'm a fair man. I understand that sometimes mistakes happen, no matter how hard we work to prevent them. However, it is unforgivable that you failed to inform me. We lost valuable time which we could have been spent searching for her. We are lucky that she was found by such a decent and upstanding person. This day could have ended very differently. Your behavior is both irresponsible and selfish, and as such, I no longer feel that you are the right person to be taking care of my daughter. I'm sorry, Ms Denali, but I have no other choice than to dismiss you. I think it would be best for you to leave this evening. I am willing to pay for you to stay in a hotel until you have made alternative living arrangements." My speech has left no room for negotiating, and I'm hoping that she retains her dignity and just walks out.

Wishful thinking.

"Please, Edward, I'm begging you, please give me a second chance. I love Daisy. Today was an accident. It will never happen again, I promise." Her crying gets louder and more exaggerated by the minute, and I pass her a tissue.

"Ms Denali, I'm sorry but my decision has been made."

"I can do better. I know we can be so good together…" she starts to stumble on her words as shock registers on her face, "…I'm mean me and Daisy. We get on so well, we're a good team."

"I don't think so. I'm sorry." Our conversation just seems to be going round in circles and I can feel my irritation growing. She needs to accept that this arrangement is over and leave.

"I love Daisy and I love you." Her bold announcement catches me off guard.

I knew she had a crush on me, but love. The women is more delusional that I originally thought. However, before I have chance to respond, she leaps into action and an unpredictable chain of events follows.

In a blink of an eye, the entire mass of work on my desk has been pushed on to the floor and Tanya is scrambling over it, flailing her long, manicured talon's in my direction.

"We can be great together. We're two halves of a whole." She pleads.

"Your delusional woman. Get away from me."

I jump from my desk and make a break for the door, but she's too quick. She pounces on me and I feel us both fall to the floor in a heap. A moment later her sticky, lip-gloss coated mouth makes contact with mine. I hastily push her off of me, trying to shield my face from any further assaults.

"I have no idea where you have got this foolish idea from, but you and I are most certainly not meant to be together. I've never heard off something so ludicrous."

"I've seen the way you look at me. I know you feel it too."

Feel what? What is she talking about?

"Tanya, I hate to break this to you but you have gravely misconstrued this whole situation. We have never, and will never be, more than employer and employee. This is a business relationship, nothing more." I try to explain as patiently as I can, whilst disentangling her wandering hands from around my legs.

"Please, we were meant to get married. We can be a family. We can have more children. I can make you happy, just give me chance. I'm begging you."

I start to step away from her, taking in her kneeling form, as she sobs on the floor. Her make-up is running down her face in thick, black streaks and dripping onto her white blouse. Her shoes have been discarded at some point, probably when she mounted my desk, and the contents of her handbag have been thrown about the room.

I know that I should feel sorry for her, and maybe in time I will. All I can think about right now is how I've made a lucky escape. Tanya has clearly reached a high level of crazy, and that can only lead to one thing, trouble.

I take one final glance at her before walking out of my office, and retreating to my bedroom, and I lock my door just in case.

Did Edward handle the situation right? Do you feel sorry for Tanya? Should he have given her a second chance?

I would love to know what people think!
