A/N: Just a short onesies. I wanted to finally have a short drabble that everyone else seems to be skilled at but to no avail. Enjoy

Solace in the Rain

With his welled up eyes and reddened tipped nose, Kaidoh never looked more beautiful than when he cried.

-

Inui couldn't draw his gaze away from the sight.

-

It was raining when he spotted him, on his way home after a long day at the courts. Nothing felt more refreshing than summer rain and it helped test his immune system too.

-

Passing by the park he saw Kaidoh his cowed form attempted to hide the package he had wrapped up in his sodden bandanna. He saw his tears from far away the twilight highlighting them as they mixed with the evening shower. Yet he didn't venture out to console his teammate. Instead he stood hidden his eyes fixated on Kaidoh in all of his hurt.

-

Inui felt at his lowest.

-

Kaidoh was digging in the muddy ground, the dirt lodging itself beneath his blunt nails. As the hole became deeper Kaidoh's turmoil became increasingly more obvious. Eventually his whole body raked from shivers that weren't the result of the rain pounding on his back and drenching his body.

-

And still the tears continued to fall.

-

Finally he stopped turning to pick up the bundle he had settled down next to him. He didn't place it in the deep hole as Inui expected though. Instead he just looked at it, his pain filled expression being impossible to further decipher.

-

Giving one weary sigh he placed his possession in the hole, bandanna and all. Then as if suddenly overtaken by his anguish, Kaidoh furiously replaced the scooped out dirt that he had moments before dug and thrown out. His tears streamed down his cheeks faster and his shaking stalled this tedious undertaking.

-

Then he stood still.

-

Inui hardly dared to make a move unsure of what else to expect. But there was nothing. Kaidoh did nothing, said nothing.

-

And so Inui did likewise.

-

Inui watched as Kaidoh sat there preferring instead of escaping out of the rain, to wallow in his endless sorrow. Not moving a muscle he stayed there until the night lengthened, until the rain stopped, and until his tears ran dry.

-

Only then did he leave.

-

Inui watched it all taking down notes mentally in his head. This time he did it not for the sake of tennis, but for his own personal reasons. He wanted to know the meaning behind every action Kaidoh did. He wanted to know Kaidoh more than ever before.

-

This time as a person instead of a tennis player.

-

Inui's eyes trailed after Kaidoh, noting his hunched shoulders and damp clothes. He was back to being the gruff boy that everyone knew him as. There were no salt stains to give evidence to his crying. His eyes remained clear and alert, the scowl etched on his face gave no indication that sobs poured forth from it earlier.

-

The Kaidoh that Inui became privy to only existed in his memories to be forever kept safe.

-

Inui walked to the place Kaidoh had been, desiring to find out what caused such an emotional change to the young tennis player. It seemed though that Kaidoh gave him the answer he needed without knowing. On top of the fresh turned earth scattered with flowering weeds, there was one word spelled out in small pebbles that granted him the answer he needed.

-

"Kitty" it read.

Ange: So since I don't have internet at my step brother's house I can't work on my Biology, English, or Japanese (kinda) so I decided to write an InuKai to get back into the pairing. This isn't really an actual pairing but rather a peeping tom-ish thing so that kinda failed. Ah well, review!
