Let it Die

They had fire in their eyes...in the begining he had never felt so alive.
He swears that he never meant to let it die, and he says he dosen't care about her anymore.
At least, Vader dosen't care about Padme anymore, but that tiny fragile peice of Anakin Skywalker, does.
He thought they had time on their side...at first they had nothing to hide. Of course though, that was at first. After that things changed. He lied so much, to the people who trusted him the much, and trusted the one person who lied more than him.
Palpatine.
He had promised to save Padme, but he didn't, or she would be here with him now or better yet he'd be with her and their baby on Naboo. That could never happen now; Padme was dead. Wasn't she? No matter how much he hoped she was alive...She was gone forever.
Everyone blamed him for her death!
It's all a lie he couldn't...no he wouldn't kill her! Their realtionship did not die at his hands, but it did.
He still swears to himself that he never meant to let this happen, but is it really the truth?
Would his mother recognize him? This question ravaged his thoughts. His mother had known the real Ani.
The little Tatooine Slave who could do amazing things, and loved everything and everybody, not the evil, masked, killing machine that is Lord Vader second in command of the Empire.
What about Qui-Gon Jinn the Jedi who said he was the Chosen One; the one who rescued him from slavery?
No, Vader tore at his inner guilt that was Anakin, "They are nothing!"
But it was a lie.
He, and no one else had killed Padme. Anakin did let it die.
Anakin let it die, along with almost every part of him.
