His love was festering and secreting pus like an infected open wound. It hurt like one too, and as much he wanted to cure himself of this-of feeling, there was nothing he could do.
There was no cure for love.
So
all he could do was distance himself literally and figuratively. Make
sure his desk was the furthest possible, come to Homeroom and Math
late, avoid touching(he didn't like that anyway). Be disenchanted, be
uninterested, be as calloused as possible.

this pain quietly. Hope that the bandaging wouldn't somehow come
loose.
Hope that this love would never be revealed to her.
