Tony bolted upright in his chair. His eyes focused and reflexes took over. Drawing his firearm he demanded, "What the…hell?" At first he thought the devil had come to get him. But the devil was really short.
It was a red creature of some sort. It had big eyes and quills hanging from its head. Its gloved hands had two sharp points where knuckles could be on a human hand. The hands were up in the air at the moment and the look on the creature's face was one of anger and disgust.
"Watch where you're pointing that thing!" All Tony could gleen from the comment was that this thing could speak and it was male. He really had to stop sleeping at work.
Tony's jaw dropped but he quickly closed it and said, "Why are you talking?"
The creature closed his eyes and sighed wearily. When his eyes opened again his anger was still present but less fierce, "The better question is 'What is shedoing on the floor?'"
Tony almost lowered his gun. "What?"
The creature nodded his head over his shoulder and Tony looked. There was indeed a girl sprawled out on the floor blood starting to pool on the carpet. He immediately holstered his gun but before leaving his desk, he said quickly, almost comically and struggling for the words, "Stay…. There... Just - don't move."
"Fine I won't. Sheesh, I'm not a dog," he grumbled but obliged.
Tony hurried to the girl. Next to her was a dog that almost looked like a mix but he couldn't have figured what. She was bleeding rapidly from her shoulder and the dog was supporting her head on its back.
"She's been wounded. Please hurry," the dog spoke with urgency.
The special agent jumped slightly. "Everyone, stop talking!" he blurted in an attempt to keep his sanity.
"Humans," the red creature groaned under his breath.
"I think I liked it better when then couldn't hear us," the dog shook its head and, it didn't seem possible to Tony, with a grin on its face.
"Think of a happy place. Think of a happy place," Tony whispered as he pulled out his cell phone, "Hello, my name is Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo from NCIS on the Naval Yard. I need an ambulance now."
