Tell me if this sucks, so I can leave it with at least some of my dignity.

Chapter 1

The elf cursed silently. After a several days, he still had no idea where he was. The elf was like most others from Mirkwood, tall with luscious blonde hair. But this particular elf was exceptionally restless. Hence the fact he was now exploring uncharted regions of Mirkwood, a foolish thing to do. And to top it off he had insisted that he do it alone. It was a very foolish thing to do and he knew it: especially since there were giant spiders, orcs, and some dark magic was brewing.

'But no matter,' this elf thought 'I just want to be a hero and here it my chance.' (A/N: these guys almost never end well).

After walking a ways, the elf (A/N: let's call him No Name) started to relax. He closed his eyes and listened to all the sounds around him: the wind running through the trees, the chirping of birds, and the sound of his steps on a stone road. Suddenly the No Name came to a stop.

"That's weird I didn't think there were stone road in this part of Mirkwood," he thought to himself.

"Finally! This could be my big break," Thinking that he had finally struck some luck, (which he'd had a considerable lack thereof) he started walking down the road.

When the reached a clearing he stopped, it wasn't because he was tired, or because he'd come onto some sort of gathering of evil, creepy creatures. It was because what stood before him was so strange, it was like nothing he'd had ever seen before.

What stood be for him was a huge ring that had been stuck into the ground. It was so huge, that even if Sauron was wearing his helmet, he could walk through with room to spare. On the ring there were strange symbols and seven triangle shapes on it too. In front of the ring was stand of sorts. On the stand, in a circle, were the same symbols as those that were on the ring. They both felt old, very old. They seemed older than Fangorn, older than the Dunedain, older than any race that ever existed on Middle Earth, including the elves.

"Creepy… who could have made this?" No Name thought. But No Name hardly had time to wonder about this before the ring began to spin, by itself! The ring froze for a second and one of the triangles lit up. Gulping, he took a step back. The ring began to spin again and the next triangle lit up. No Name ran for the trees, some hero he's turning out to be. This happened again and again until all seven triangles were lit up. By now, No Name was hiding in a tree.

A blue light appeared inside the ring. It reminded the elf of water. A human suddenly stepped out of the ring. As he studied the man from a distance, four more humans stepped out of the ring, three men and one lady. Their outfits were apparently uniform since they all wore the same thing.

After awhile the lady spoke, "Daniel, this place is wonko!"
