Anakin Skywalker awoke drearily with his head in sand. Confused he quickly rose to his feet dusting off his robes. He looked around finding nothing. The last thing he could remember was looking at his son, Luke Skywalker before he died.
"This must be the afterlife, Obi-Wan spoke of, hmmm," He thought to himself. He looked down surprised that he saw himself, not in his usual Empire armor, but a simple robe that the Jedi Council wore. That of the Jedi Masters. He turned around and, again, saw nothing. Is this what he was to expect to spend, to spend his afterlife alone? He suddenly felt depressed at this notion. He guessed he deserved it. He betrayed the Jedi and killed younglings, not for a moment considering that his actions were immoral. He force choked his wife, inavertly causing her death. Tortured his daughter, attempted to kill his son. He guessed that killing the emperor was not enough to atone for his sins and this was his personal hell. He closed his eyes and smelled something that should have not been there. Water. He smelled water.
"But isn't this a desert?" He thought. He kept his eyes closed as he ran towards the source of the smell, reaching the top of a sand dune. Not an easy task, he noted. He looked at a huge body of water. An ocean streching on for what seemed like forever. He looked down at a small strech of beach and there was something that definately should not have been there, a bench. A ordinary bench.
"I must be going crazy," Anakin said aloud. He looked closer at the bench and saw someone seating on it. He ran toward the bench as fast as he could. Trying desperate to think who it could possibly be. Getting closer his mind began to race about who the person could possibly be.
"Obi-Wan? Jar-Jar? Please God no. Padme?" The sound of her voice in his head stopped him in his tracks. If it was her, could she ever forgive him for what he did? He put his head down as he got closer to the figure.
The figure looked toward Anakin as he walked closer. It's eyebrows creased. Unable to think of a proper responce.
Anakin felt a tear slip down his face as he stood next to the bench. The figure turned its head and Anakin was awe-struck as he stared into the face of his beloved Padme Amidala. She turned her head and stared back out into the ocean. Anakin understood completely he had done something that was unforgivable.
"I-I a-am s-s-so sorry, my love, c-can you e-ever forgive me? Anakin pleaded. Padme continued to stare out onto the ocean, staring into nothingness. The same thing she had been staring into for nearly 20 years. Anakin got onto his knees and kneeled in front of her trying to seem as innocent as he possibly could. He grabbed her hand kissing it feverishly. Padme refused to look at him unable to look at the man who killed her. She felt a tear fall against her hand and looked at her husband.
"Anakin," Padme said with slight aggression in her voice. Anakin Skywalker looked up at his beautiful wife. She quickly pulled him into a kiss. He was truly Anakin Skywalker once again. Not the Sith Lord Darth Vader. They broke apart leaving Anakin with a shocked look upon his face. He couldn't believe what had just happened. "I was never angry with you, only disappointed." Padme said lovingly before kissing him again. They fell forward with Padme landing on top of her husband. Anakin wrapped his arms around his wife and pulled her into an even tighter embrace. They broke apart again leaving Anakin disappointed. They both stood up and Padme took his hand.
"It's time for us to go Anakin." She stated.
"Go where?"
"To meet the others," Padme said lovingly as they both disappeared. Both become truly one with the Force. They would both see their children at the celebration of the Empire's defeat. Guiding their grandchildren and further decendents throughout their lives as Jedi Knights, Masters, and Grandmasters.
