Well, Rowling slipped in another new character in Harry Potter.
Okay, she slipped in another few dozen new characters in with this latest installment, but just recently I've grabbed onto one of them and started running.
Sooooo….
INTRODUCING . . . REGULUS BLACK!
This is the first story I've written with little Reggie, and it's more of just a funny little blurb than anything, but keep your eyes peeled for his story at Hogwarts.
With Sirius as a brother, what must this little devil be like? He did become a Death Eater, but at the same time, he did try to back out of the Death Eaters once he realized what they entailed.
Hogwarts Blurb
Regulus' Sorting
"Black, Regulus!" McGonagall called, standing next to the Sorting Hat. Little Regulus scurried up and sat on the stool.
"Do you want him in Gryffindor?" Peter asked Sirius.
"No way!" Sirius hissed. "Regulus is a little snot-nosed brat!"
"Yeah," James agreed. "He's definitely a snake. Always sneaking around, trying to get us in trouble."
"Whining, cringing, following, lurking…"
"Crying, bragging, spying, annoying…"
"He's still your brother though, Sirius," Remus pointed out. "And you do much of that too, both of you."
Slytherin table
"Is he related to you, Narcissa?" Lucius Malfoy asked the girl sitting next to him.
Narcissa Black shook her golden hair over her shoulder and nodded. "He is. He's Sirius' little brother."
"Sirius! That marauder has a brother!?" Lucius was outraged. "The little whelp had better not be in Slytherin then. Not if he's anything like that oaf!"
"I don't think he is," Narcissa murmured. "But they do look so similar, don't they?"
Hat
After a lengthy deliberation over Regulus' Sorting, the Hat finally cried out "HUFFLEPUFF!"
The silence in the Great Hall following that statement could be cut with a knife. Everyone stared at Regulus, Slytherins, Gryffindors, teachers…
Regulus hadn't moved from his seat, the hat covering most of his red face.
Sirius shook his head in amazement. "I thought for sure he'd be a Slytherin! Hufflepuff is even worse than Gryffindor for Mum! She'll have a fit!"
Lucius was laughing to Narcissa. "Hufflepuff! I knew he must have shared some traits with that dog!"
From under the Sorting Hat, a hesitant little voice asked, "Umm, could I be resorted?"

In case you didn't get the humor, Regulus is a Death Eater. Most likely Slytherin sorted. After all, his whole family (except for Sirius) is gung ho about the purity of blood and so on and so forth. Poor little Regulus, the Hufflepuff.
Don't worry; he'll be a Slytherin in my other stories.
