"Is Rachel Carruthers Truly Dead?"
She got stabbed in the shoulder—a non-fatal place. If she can survive falling off a rooftop, then she can survive anything. But she appeared dead at the end of "Halloween 5". She was also covered in a lot of blood. You can't bleed that much from a scissor stab. A knife stab yes, but a scissor stab no. Also there was blood on her left sleeve and on her right palm. Where did all that blood come from? Certainly not her scissor wound in her shoulder.
But she was lifeless and her eyes were wide open. That doesn't necessarily mean she was dead. She could have very well been in a state of shock. Think about it. Michael snuck up behind her without warning, and before she had the chance to defend herself he just stabbed her. That would be enough to scare someone into a state of shock.
Also Jamie touched the skin under her eyes, and when she heard Michael's footsteps she asked Rachel to help her. Why would she ask Rachel to help her if Rachel was dead? It's obvious that the skin under her eye was warm not cold. Originally Rachel was supposed to get scissors shoved down her throat, but thankfully it was changed to her getting stabbed in the shoulder instead.
If Rachel went into a state of shock, then why didn't Michael just stab her multiple times to finish her off? He knew that because she was in a state of shock that she would be out of his way, so he decided to just leave her that way. And even if he did stab her multiple times, her thick sweater would have absorbed the blood, and that would have stopped the bleeding.
Her mother Darlene was stabbed multiple times in the shoulder by Jamie, and she survived. If she could survive multiple stab wounds, then so could Rachel. But on Rachel's Halloween Wiki page it states that Rachel is buried in a cemetery somewhere. The creators of that site made that up. Nowhere in "Halloween 5" does it state that Rachel is buried anywhere.
But the director Dominique Othenin-Girard said he killed Rachel to prove that no one is safe from Michael. Dominique doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground. This is the same dumbass that made Michael cry for Pete's sake! So there you have it. It's possible that Rachel did not die—regardless of what the idiot director said.
