There once was a time when there was a reason for war. That was only a generation ago, a war to end all wars to fight against tyranny and global conquest. That feels like such a long time ago. Such a long time ago, when we could point at a man and say "he's the bad guy," or when we could say "this is our purpose". That was our medal of honour.

Now, mired in politics and nationalized jingoism, we fight. Nations at war for century old feuds and fear, ambling not to our worldly destruction but to a world of us and them. This is your nation's call of duty.

In new age of politics and worldview, I would rather have complex honour then blind duty.

We are called by duty, but honour is what is pinned to our chests.
