This was written for the 'Pairing The Character - Drabble Competition [REVIVED]' comp on HPFC. I was to write a 100-300 word drabble about Draco/Harry.
It's short and fluffy, and I hope you enjoy!
Mixing Colours
Harry let out an amused breath as he lay in Draco's arms. They were lying in a bed that the Room of Requirement had summoned up for them. Draco leaned back a little to take a good look at Harry's laughing face.
"What's so funny?" Draco demanded, trying hard not to smile at his boyfriend's wonderful smile.
"Oh, nothing," Harry replied, staring innocently up at the Slytherin.
"Tell me," Draco said, more softly this time. Harry peered up at him, and shrugged.
"You aren't going to be too happy."
"Go on."
"Well," Harry said absent-mindedly, fiddling with the hem of his shirt. "Imagine we had kids, somehow."
"We can't," Draco said.
"Thanks for pointing out the bloody obvious!" Harry said. "Let me finish."
"Sorry," the Slytherin replied quietly. "Imagine we had kids. I'm imagining…"
"Well, I'm in Gryffindor and you're in Slytherin," Harry said.
"Thanks for pointing out the bloody obvious," Draco repeated, earning him a playful whack from Harry.
"Red and green," Harry grinned. "Put them together and what does it make?"
Draco raised his eyebrows. "I don't understand."
"Did you never mix colours when you were young?" Harry sighed. Draco shook his head. "Of course you didn't," Harry continued. "You purebloods-ANYWAY… red and green make yellow. Our child would be a Hufflepuff."
"That's disastrous!" Draco exclaimed, looking horrified.
"So that's why I was laughing," Harry said.
"Can you laugh again?" Draco asked. "I love it when you laugh."
"Or how about you just kiss me?" Harry suggested, smirking at him. Draco couldn't say no to that offer. Not in a million years.
They kissed, and it was sweet and perfect and just wonderful. When Draco pulled away, he frowned at Harry. "But if our kid is in Hufflepuff-"
"-Then we can laugh and kiss. Sounds good to me," Harry smiled.
"Hm," Draco shrugged, smiling. "I suppose you're right."
And they kissed once more.
