She was scared, scared for her family. Katniss started running for her home where she grew up, but she never made it there. She heard a loud whistling, and it kept getting louder; it felt like two seconds later when the world around her shifted and the entire town was gone in a cloud of smoke. She could hear the screams and she saw Prim running towards a group of children as a bomb hit and lit the very air she was breathing on fire. Katniss let out a scream for her lost sister and felt a jolt, and that is when she woke to Peeta cradling her in his arms.

"You were screaming her name again, do you want to talk about it?" Peeta asked as he stroked her hair.

"I... I... I..." she stammered, "How the hell am I supposed to move on if I can't even go a week without dreaming of her death?"

"It will get better. You are never going to forget, you will just get better at hiding the pain. And just remember the past made you who you are today and you always have me to talk to about it." he comforted her. He knew that it would be a long time before she opened up and wanted to talk about that day, but someday she will want to talk about it.

"Peeta, do you still have nightmares?"

"Of course I do. But when I wake up, I feel you beside me, and try to remind myself that it is not real, that when I wake up I will be in this bed with you; not back in that ring." he said matter-of-factly. His statement hit Katniss like a brick and warmed her heart; she still could not believe how much Peeta truly loved her.

Katniss sat there thinking about what Peeta said, and looked back on her life as if it were a nightmare lived by another person; she could not believe that she had actually lived through the many trials she faced. She knew that everything Peeta had done in the past is what saved her, and made her love him so. Deep down she knew that she would have loved Peeta this much even if they had not been in the Games together, but without the games she would not be who she is.
