Sacrifice
"Thank god" Mycroft said as he walked out of the meetings room trying not to break into a full on sprint "I can safely say that, that was one of the most tedious and extensively boring meetings I've ever had the displeasure to be in." Anthea started to laugh as she caught up to him "I agree completely, sir." Mycroft was about to add to his earlier statement when he noticed that Anthea had jumped in front of him "my dear, what are you-" Mycroft was cut short as he heard a gunshot. He looked up immediately to see an elderly gentlemen in scruffy clothes being tackled to the floor by several agents. He then realised what had happened as he looked down towards Anthea who now had her hand on her stomach, covered in blood. Mycroft immediately took Anthea in his arms and laid her down on the floor. "Anthea" he whispered, but no response came from the girl now laying with her eyes closed on the floor. "Alice" Mycroft tried again, this time with her real name, this got some sort of reaction out of her as she moved her leg. "Alice please, come on" he had moved his hands to her face and was now stroking her cheek. Mycroft started to panic as she was becoming unresponsive so he did the only thing he thought would work, he settled his forehead against hers and began to whisper to her "Ali, please come back to me. You can't leave me like this not now, not ever I won't let you" Mycroft smiled slightly as she began to murmur something in response "that's it Ali, come on wake up, come back to me" Anthea slowly opened her eyes to see the strange image of Mycroft Holmes, mere inches away from her face beaming at her with a concerned look on his face. "Myc" Anthea said and then winced in pain. "Ali I'm here, you've been shot just lie still." Anthea lifted her hand to his face and began to stroke his cheek "your ok?" Mycroft nodded and smiled "thanks to you my amazing PA… Mind you I think girlfriend sounds better don't you?" And with that Anthea grabbed Mycrofts tie and pulled him down into a kiss.
