A/N: So…this might be the first story I finish. I know, it probably sucks, but I hope you guys enjoy it.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Javert stood, staring into the coursing river. Truly, there was no reason to live any longer. He removed the letter from his pocket, along with his hat, badge, nightstick, and shoes and placed them carefully on the bridge. He took one last look at the life he knew, and jumped to his death. He thought he heard someone call his name, but knew it was simply a figment of his imagination. He fell unconscious as soon as he plunged into the icy depths of the Seine.

Jean Valjean watched in horror as Javert jumped. He yelled out to the man, but to no avail. Valjean ran as fast as he could, and jumped into the water without a second a thought. He loved the man who had chased for him so long. Now that he, Jean Valjean, realized this, he would allow his love to die. He swam quickly until he found the other man, grabbed him by his waist, and swam upwards. It was a challenge, but they both had to live. As they broke the surface, Valjean was gasping, while Javert's face was beginning to turn blue. Valjean swam them both to the shore, and gently laid Javert's body on the sand.
"You cannot die, my dear Inspector. Not now!" Valjean whispered into Javert's dark hair, and soon began to try to get him breathing again. Unfortunately (or perhaps not), the only available method to perform was mouth-to-mouth. As soon as Valjean's lips touched Javert's, the ex-convict quickly kissed the inspector, and just as soon as the kiss took place, the latter jerked back to life.
"You-I-what are you doing?!" Javert screamed, trying to grasp the strange feeling inside of him. Soon, the feeling dissipated as his eyes widened in shock at not only the predicament that he was in, but also at their surroundings.

Javert awoke to a kiss from Valjean. Disgustedly, he found that he liked it, but was loathe to admit it. What terrified him even more, however, was the large castle looming over them. He threw the ex-convict off of him, and pointed to castle. He quickly memorized their surroundings, noting now they were not at the river Seine, but a lake.
"You! Prisoner 24601! Where are we?!"
"I honestly have no clue, Javert. I thought we were still in Paris!"
"How observant. You were too caught up in that kiss to notice anything, I suppose." Javert leered at the older man.
Valjean blushed ever so slightly. "Ah, but it was not a kiss, monsieur! I was simply trying to save your life."
"I would rather be dead."
"Be silent, inspector. You owe me thanks, for I have saved your life yet again. Now, perhaps we may find food and shelter in that castle. Surely they must have room for us? Come, monsieur le'inspector."
Grudgingly, Javert obeyed and they slowly began to trek towards the large castle.
Valjean wondered what would happen next, and if there would ever be another kiss.
Javert just wanted to get out of his damned cold clothes, and as far away from Valjean as possible.

A/N: Short, I know. All the chapters are pretty short, because I'm pretty much writing one a day. But it's all-good. That means more updates, if anyone cares.

So, whad'ya think?
Haha, Javert really just wants to get nekkid for Jean. He knows it to be true. *finds self beaten with a nightstick* ...Ow. Review, please!
