The night sky was filled with the stars hung above them, as if strung in the air by invisible strings. The moon was shining with a shimmering silver light, basking its beauty in the cool breeze of December, which didn't bother the two teens as they walked near the hilltop.
"Ash, are we there yet?" The honey blond asked her raven-haired boyfriend.
A cloth was tied around her eyes, preventing her from taking a look of her surroundings.
"Hang on there, dear, we'll be there soon." The raven-haired trainer assured Serena, whilst guiding her the whole way.
Earlier on the day, Serena had a huge fight with Miette, her close...er, ex-close friend who accused Serena of stealing her boyfriend. She had gone too far with her accusation and that made Serena snap out, and end her friendship with Miette.
The rest of the day, she avoided everyone, including Dawn, her best friend, and Ash, which rarely happens. Knowing Serena well, they allowed her to be alone for a while.
And to cheer up Serena, Ash planned a surprise date for Serena.
*Flashback*
Serena was lying on her bed, eyes closed while she listened to her favourite Nightcore songs. She was wearing a sleeveless white plain tee with a Fennekin picture on it, and a plain pink skirt with white stockings.
The fight with Miette earlier that day kept replaying in her mind. She can't stop thinking about it.
Suddenly her bedroom door went open wide. This startled her so badly she ended up falling off her bed.
"MOOO...oh, it's you, Ash." She was going to yell at the person for startling her, but when she noticed it was Ash she stopped.
"Serena, come with me. I've got to show you something." Ash told her, excited.
Without waiting for any response, he took her hand and started running.
*Flashback end*
"Ash, I'm getting tired of the blindfold. I wanna see what it is." Serena tried to be cute to butter up Ash a bit, and make him take it off.
But Ash replied, "Just wait there dear, it's only two or three steps away from us."
Then they came to a stop. Ash undid her blindfold, and Serena opened her eyes only to see a beautiful sight in front of her.
There was a blanket spread over the grass, with a picnic basket on top of it. Ice cream, tacos, Poke Puffs and all of her favorite food items are artfully spread on the blanket.
She was elated at the sight.
Ash took her shoulders and made her sit down on the blanket. Then he settled down next to her.
With a big smile pasted on her face, she hugged him.
"Thanks Ash, I don't deserve a boyfriend like you. I'm sorry for avoiding you throughout the day." Serena confessed him with a hint of guilt in her voice for avoiding him.
"It's alright Sere, you needed some time to deal with it before you talk to me or Dawn." Ash spoke while hugging her back.
With a smile pasted on his face, he kissed her under the stars.
The teens smiled while kissing and ended their stressful day with a romantic date under is in air.
