Hey. I am not JP. The characters are not mine. The song is a remake by New Found Glory. I know they are a bit out of character.
Max is regular, just Fang is italics, both are bold.
Read and Enjoy.
She watched the scene from the top of an unusually large hill. The party was at the bottom, unaware of the girl watching them. She was still within hearing distance from her family, camping in the grove of trees nearby.
The night was clear and warm, the perfect night for a party. A slight wind blew strands of her hair in her face. She tucked them safely away behind her ear and wrapped her arms around her knees.
All she really wanted to do was join the happy people down below. Be normal. Dance to the music. Share a kiss with the one she loved.
At the mention of love in her mind, the image of his eyes swam in her vision. He was completely oblivious to her feelings, although she thought he may feel the same. He had kissed her twice. She had run away, unsure of her feelings for him until recently.
She shook her head, returning her attention to the scene before her. Now was not the time to fret about him. Now was the time to relax…while she still could.
Down below, a familiar song came on. Softly, the girl sang along…
"Kiss me
Out of the bearded barley"
"Nightly," a male's voice joined hers. It was him. He must have left Iggy to watch the kids. I nodded to him and continued the song. " beside the green, green grass"
"Swing, swing
"Swing the spinning step"
"I'll wear those shoes and you will wear that dress" he smirked as he sang this. I wouldn't ever wear something as girly as a dress. They're too impractical to fight in.
"Oh," "kiss me" her heart clenched at his words, wishing he actually meant them.
"Beneath the milky twilight
"Lead me
"Out on the moonlit floor
"Lift your open hand
"Strike up the band
"And make the fireflies dance
"Silver moon's sparkling"
"So kiss me" She looked over at him, to see what he was thinking. His eyes, expressionless, were staring straight ahead at the dancing people, refusing to look at her.
The music continued, "Kiss me"
"Down by the broken tree house
"Swing me
"Upon its hanging tire
"Bring, bring"
"Bring your flowered hat" She saw him smirk again out of the corner of my eye. Flowered hats went right along with dresses. Blech.
"We'll take the trail marked on your fathers map
"Oh"
"Kiss me"
The girl lay back, stretching out mher legs and looking up at the stars. "Beneath the milky twilight
"Lead me
"Out on the moonlit floor
"Lift your open hand
"Strike up the band
"And make the fireflies dance
"Silver moon's sparkling"
He lay back, parallel to me. "So kiss me"
"Oh," "kiss me"
"Beneath the milky twilight
"Lead me
"Out on the moonlit floor
"Lift your open hand
"Strike up the band
"And make the fireflies dance
"Silver moon's sparkling"
She turned his head to look at him. He was staring at her, eyes intense.
"So kiss me
"So kiss me
"So kiss me"
Max braced myself for what she was about to say, "So kiss me" Fang's dark eyes lit up, surprised and delighted.
As the song ended, the two teenagers sat up, eyes locked. With the final notes, they kissed.
For years, she remembered that party at the bottom of the hill, but not because she had wanted to join them, but because he had wanted to join her.
Sorry if the ending didn't make much sense. It did, in my head, when I was writing it.
Review please.
