A/N: Okay, so I'm sick and bored. I've been in my room all day and I'm on meds so expect to be a little loony. But that's what this is all about. I own nothing but my computer.

It has been five years since the passing of her friend. Glinda the Good never liked to refer to that event as a "melting." Every year on the anniversary, she would sit and mope on how the Ozians viewed it as a grand occasion and she must pretend to celebrate the murder of her friend.

Five years ago, she was officially living in the Wizard's castle and proclaimed the Ozian ruler. Two years later, she had reason to celebrate a death truthfully with the populace. Madame Morrible had died in her sleep in Southstairs. Glinda, though, shocked many when she gave the old witch a state funeral on the consideration that she was a member of the Wizard's high staff.

In all that time, Glinda had worked hard to bring order back to Oz. Animal bans were quickly being lifted and the Animal population slowly began to mix with the human once again. Glinda knew Elphaba would be proud. The fight that she had started was almost finished. Glinda found it a shame that her friend never lived to see it.

By her side at all times was that faithful winged servant of Elphaba. Chistery did his best never to be more than an arm's length of the good witch. He never left her for any reason. She saw him as her little shadow; constantly watching, constantly protecting. On his belt he bore a pistol. A fine fire arm. Shining silver was its barrel and finely polished pearl for the handle. To many, it was his pride and joy. Many hours he would clean it and make sure it was in prime condition. But he never used it, nor kept it fully loaded. It always possessed a single silver bullet and, save for its daily maintenance, it never leaved its holster or his side.

Glinda, like all of Oz, questioned why he would carry such an item. Chistery never answered the question. It was for only him and the person who gave it to him to know. Soon, however, the truth behind the piece would become clear to all.
