I don't own Gilmore girls. (Tears up)
A/N: I know this story is going to be realllly corny, but I've had this idea for awhile. And I know I suck at making titles. Rory is in her first year at Yale. So Lorelai is like 34. Emily is like 64. Enjoy!
"Oh my god," Lorelai said groggily, being woken up by the doorbell at 5 in the morning. "This better be pretty damn important!" She yelled to the door as she ambled towards the door. She opened the door and there stood a woman who seemed older than Lorelai, in dirtied clothes with a child in her arms. Lorelai was confused.
"I'm sorry, I didn't have your phone number," the woman told her. "I've been looking for you for awhile. You are Lorelai Gilmore right?"
"Yeah, that's me…"
"Oh, I'm sorry, I'm Layla. This is Hope," the woman told Lorelai, introducing herself and her child.
"Well, it's nice to meet you," Lorelai said. "But, I'm sorry, should I have known who you were, I know it's early but…"
"No, no. You don't know me. I got your last name from my adoptive parents when I was younger, and I always remembered Gilmore." Lorelai motioned her to come into the house, although still apprehensive. "I got updates from the adoption agency about Emily's family."
"How do you know Emily?"
"She's my biological mother, but I'm 48 and I don't know where to go."
"Emily? My mother is your mother? That can't be possible, oh god…Are you sure about this?"
"Yeah, I don't think there's any way they could be wrong."
"Well, make yourself at home," Lorelai told the woman, somewhat mystified. Layla sat down on the lumpy couch but looked somewhat relieved. "So, what can I do for you?"
"Um, Hope and I have been living in my car, but come the winter, I don't know what I'm going to do. I was wondering if you could help me…"
"Oh, uh, I guess I'll try to help, but I'm going to need to talk to my mother. For now you can just make yourself comfortable, and I'm going to get dressed." Layla nodded and sat back.

"Mom, why are you calling me so early? I'm in college now, I need sleep…especially after staying up till twelve studying," Rory answered to who mother, who had called her after running upstairs.
"I have a BIG problem," Lorelai told her.
"Mom, how can you already have a problem, its 5:30 in the morning…"
"Your grandmother's daughter is here."
"Yes, I can hear you, now tell me what your problem is so I can sleep."
"No, not just me, her other daughter is here. And she has a kid with her, and she's like homeless, and I have no idea what to do!"
"You are, kidding right? Is this one of your dreams you need analyzed?"
"No I am totally serious, and you need to tell me what to do because she's sitting down there waiting for me."
"Grandma has another daughter? Are you sure? What if she's just a murderer?"
"For one thing, she knows my name, and she has a kid with her…Now what do I do??"
"How could this be possible?"
"Well, she's 48..."
"Wait that means grandma was sixteen! Mom, you need to go down there and talk to her!"
"Fine, but come home soon, just in case she does murder me!" Lorelai hung up and slowly made her way down the stairs. "I think we should go talk to Emily." Layla looked down and nodded. They made their way out the door to the Gilmore residence. And they didn't call first.
