Well I am back
Well I am back! Sorry it's been awhile guys, I hope I still have people out there who read my stories.
This is loosely based off of the movie The Wedding Date starring Debra Messing. However, I have twisted it up quite a bit.
Hope you guys enjoy!

Chapter 1
"ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?"
That wasn't the response that Chantel Montez was hoping for from her sister. Sisters were supposed to give each other a congratulatory response when news of a wedding approaches. Chantel simply thought Bryan Cummings was quite handsome and was very well liked by Gabriella.
However it wasn't Bryan, to whom Gabriella Montez was referring.

10 minutes earlier
"So, how is my stuffed shirt of a sister?" Chantel Montez skipped lightly into office, taking a short breath in as if she was breathing air for the first time. Her voice was extra perky this morning and the soft hop in her step was enough for Gabriella Montez to prove something was up.
Taking a moment to set down her reading glasses, Gabriella lowered the stack of papers she was skimming through before the 'sisterly' invasion. Kinking one eyebrow, Gabriella scoffed. "Was that supposed to be your way of a compliment?"
Chantel, who was currently sniffing the flowers on Gabriella's desk repeatedly, turned and looked at her dark-haired sister. "Huh, what did you say?" The straight, light brown-haired girl asked quizzically.
Gabriella snorted and mumbled, "Apparently lilies are more important than her sister's feelings." Rolling her eyes, she leaned back into the black desk chair.
Gabriella took this time to study her younger sister by five years. At 22 years of age, Chantel Montez looked almost like a double of Gabriella. Even though the shade of Chantel's hair was much lighter than Gabriella's, they both had the trademark of tanned skin and bouncy curls. Their outside features might be alike but they couldn't be any more different. Gabriella was more timid and shy while working for a travel agency and Chantel had an outgoing personality like someone of herself, fresh out of college.
"Okay, just tell me what's got you in such a bizarre mood and making you act all high on my…flowers. Unlike you, some people have work to get back to so they can pay for their pathetic, lonely lives" Gabriella wrinkled her nose with the end comment and raised her eyebrows curiously up at her sister.
Chantel just rolled her eyes as she hopped up onto her sister's working desk, most certainly crinkling papers underneath her. "Oh big sister, quit acting like such a drama queen for once in your life and be happy for your me! Especially since I am getting married and managed to get you a blind date for the wedding!" Chantel squealed and clapped her hands with excitement, holding out her arms towards her sister.
Of course Gabriella's first thought was of bubbling excitement for her little sister. However her last words were what stuck out in Gabriella's head as if they were taunting her over and over again. Blind Date.
Slamming her hands down on the table in front of her, Gabriella was instead thrown with bubbling anger. Scooting out of the chair she threw her hands up into the air.
"ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?"
For a slight moment, Chantel gave her sister a blank stare.
For an even slighter moment, Gabriella gave her sister a stare down.
Chantel opened her mouth and paused momentarily. "Uh…is this trick question?"
Groaning, Gabriella looked straight into the eye of her sister. "My answer is NO, absolutely not!" The tone of her voice suddenly become frustrated as the tanned, delicate hands of hers scraped through her hair nervously.
Chantel kinked an eyebrow.
"WHAT?" Both of them were staring at each other forcefully and the older girl was inevitably growing red in the face as if she was about to suffocate and pass out at any possible moment.
"Look, Gabi bear, I know you want to protect me for the rest of your life because it's important to make sure that I'm not walking on some random dark alley and a freaky guy in one of those ridiculously ugly black ski masks comes up and tries to drag me away…"
"Oh for crying out loud!" Gabriella shouted breathlessly towards the ceiling, "(A. Don't pull that Gabi bear shit ever again and (B. I'm perfectly fine with you marrying Bryan. However, blind date?"
Chantel burst out laughing. "Gabs, you can't stay single for the rest of your life. You're getting old fast, here."
Gabriella looked offended, "I'm 27."
"Exactly."
"Chantel, I swear to God I have been on countless blind dates for you because you are my loving sister and you know I would do anything for you. But I. Am. Done" She swatted her arms to the side to show her younger sister that she was completely serious. "I'm not doing anything else for you. I'm boycotting this date!"
The younger girl just rolled her eyes. "Oh don't be so dramatic. You're acting like it's a death sentence. I'm not asking you to get married!"
"You might as well be" Gabriella mumbled under her breath as she walked over towards the door and opened it, "Get out. I'm done discussing this with you."
Chantel snorted. "So what, you just going to kick your own flesh and blood out of your office on the happiest day of her life?", Gabriella just gave her a determined glare, "Well fine. Be jealous that your younger sister is getting married before you…"
Chantel made a move to walk out the door, but Gabriella swiftly slammed the door shut before she reached it. "Hold it" She muttered darkly, her dark chocolate eyes flashing.
The younger girl smiled fakely, "I knew that would do it…"
"There is no way I am jealous that you are getting married before me!" She shouted fiercely while crossing her arms around her small frame. Huffing stubbornly, she watched as her sister stared unbelievingly back at her.
Pondering for a moment, Chantel stared thoughtfully, "You know. You act just like Jane from 27 dresses, where she gets all pissed that her younger sister Tess got married before her."
"Okay, first of all, that is not how the movie went at all. Tess never actually got married before Jane because she turned out to be a compulsive liar and told her soon-to-be husband, who Jane also thought she was in love with, that she was a precious human to the vegetarian kind while she secretly ate her porkchops on the weekends…"
Sarcasm dripped from Chantel's voice, "Well look right there, you're a vegetarian…"
"Shut up. So as I was saying, the poor bastard got screwed over by Tess and Jane happened to get married before her sister to the bastard who screwed her over in the fucking New York Journal!" Gabriella exclaimed furiously.
Chantel imagined steam actually blowing out of her sister's ears. "You know, thanks for refreshing my memory about the movie for me, but I'm actually thinking you are more like Kat from The Wedding Date…"
Gabriella breezily opened the door to her office once again, "Get out."
"Fine! I'll just go find mom. She's liable to be happier that I'm getting married than you!" The younger sister flipped her hair and stomped out of the door. Turning around she hissed violently, "By the way, I changed my mind. You're just like Jane!"
Before Gabriella slammed the door behind her sister's retreating back, she shouted, "I am nothing like Jane! I ACTUALLY HATE WEDDINGS!"
