I remember when we
kissed
I still feel it on my lips
The time that you danced with
me
With no music playing
i remember those simple things
I
remember till I cry
But the one thing I wish I'd forget
A
memory I wanna forget
Is goodbye
Caitlyn sat curled up in the armchair, gazing intently at the flickering orange fire. A tear rolled down her pale cheek as she remembered:
"Hey Nate." "Hey Caitlyn. Can I talk to you for a second?" "Sure." Nate and Caitlyn walked away from Shane and Mitchie. "Caitlyn. I really like you." Caitlyn grinned and leaned forward and kissed Nate.
She touched her lips, remembering her and Nate's first kiss. She cried harder as she remembered when Nate left.
"Caity. I'm sorry but this –" he motioned to himself then her. "—just can't work anymore…I'm in love with …someone else." Caitlyn began to tear up. "O-Oh? Who?" Nate looked away. "Mitchie." "M-Mitchie?" Caitlyn quickly stood, grabbed her jacket, and ran out the front door.
Caitlyn couldn't even remember how she drove home that night without being able to see through her tears.
Caitlyn's hand shook as she attempted to open unlock her apartment door. She slammed the door behind her, sliding down and breaking into racking sobs.
Caitlyn stood and tossed a photo into the orange flames. She watched as her and Nate's faces curled into ash.
Goodbye.
