Author's note: I do not own Harry Potter or any of the character names, etc. You know the drill. Also, I don't own any of the Charmed 'lingo' (shimmering, etc.).
Introduction Part 1
It was the first day back at Hogwarts. After all students had arrived and first years had been sorted into their houses, everyone sat at his or her table and the glorious feast began. At the Gryffindor table, there was talk of a foreign student coming to Hogwarts soon. Two students in particular were deep in conversation about this mystery student.
"I heard his name is Michael W-something," said Fred Weasley. He had red hair and a twin brother, George.
"I wonder what house he'll be in. Hopefully Gryffindor," George said.
"Yeah. When will he be getting here though?" Fred and George's conversation was now catching the ears of their younger brother Ron and his two best friends, Harry Potter and Hermione Granger.
"Why does the new student have to be a boy?" Hermione asked. Hermione wanted a girl friend in addition to her all guy 'posse.'
Near the end of dinner Professor McGonagall stood up, tapped the side of her glass with her fork and called for everyone's attention.
"Some of you might have already heard the rumours that have been circulating today on the way here," and McGonagall glared at the Weasley twins with a quick pause. "I have the pleasure to announce that these rumours are true." With the last words, murmurs in the hall ignited and everyone was now anxious to hear the news of the new student. "Our new student is Michael Wainwright from New York. Since the exposure risk in such a populated city is higher than here, this will be the first time our student will be attending a magical school. But they're not unacquainted with magic. They are in Gryffindor and shall be arriving soon. Now remember, your classes start tomorrow so get your rest tonight!" With that, Fred and George headed straight to the Gryffindor common room to await the new student.
