With hours of homework behind her, Marinette gave a heavy sigh, ready to let her head fall against the desk, like many nights behind her.
However, just as her head had hit the wooden table, her eyes were broken apart, hearing a rapid tapping at the door to her roof. Her heart raced for a moment, until a voice came through, and suddenly she knew what had caused the noise, and why.
Standing up, and leaving her Kawmi, Tikki, asleep in the bag atop her desk, she moved, and climbed the ladder, pushing the door up, and his eyes made contact with hers right away.
Bright green, sparkling. Nearly slitted pupils, though they remained mostly full. Then his smile. Jesus that smile. It hadn't always made her feel this way. Send shivers up her spine, or make her knees quiver.
"Good evening, my princess~" Chat Noir said, speaking softly, and leaning in, attempted a kiss.
Marinette smiled sheepishly, and pulled away. "Oh… Get in here you." She mumbled, climbing down, nearly slipping down the last step again, were it not for a quick grab around her wrist.
"Careful, little lady. Too much noise could be a problem, besides. I'm not here to nurse a broken neck." He teased, stepping down after Marinette had regained her balance, down on her floor once more.
"Please, you just want to see me helpless. After all, how many times have I saved your butt?" She asked, throwing a bit of teasing back.
"Yeah yeah, I might. You just happen to look so damn precious sometimes." He retorted, grinning down at her.
"Why are you always out anyways? Dont you think you're was-... Using up a lot of free time?" She questioned. While this relationship of theirs had been going on a while now, she had still kept herself a secret, as had he. It was so strange… But… It worked. He no longer bothered her as Ladybug, but their teamwork only seemed to improve. Atop that, Adrien was a good friend, if he did act a little strange sometimes.
"Aw, are you disappointed to see me? Coulda sworn you were the one who couldn't get enough of this cat's meow~" He joked, his grin only getting bigger, and cockier.
Marinette rolled her eyes, and suddenly threw her arms around him, burying her face into the soft leather on his chest.
Chat smiled, and held her close, taking a step back, before falling onto her bed, letting his dear lady fall into his grasp just a little closer.
"Lights, hold on… It'll be nicer like this." Marinette said, looking up, before reluctantly letting Chat go.
She stood, snapping off her lamp, and overhead light, before turning to the window, and letting the curtains out, the moon able to shine down upon the pair, right against her bed.
She turned, holding back a laugh, to see Chat in a ridiculous pose.
"What? Come on, you love it~!" He chuckled, before reaching out for Marinette's hand, and pulling her back down onto the bed.
Soon the covers were back around them both, and she was pressed against him. So warm, and it felt amazing. She let her head against him, closing her eyes. "Stay with me 'til I sleep, kitty?" She asked, like every night before.
And like every night before, he began to purr. "Of course I will, my dear princess. Sleep, and we'll spend more time together another night." He said, starting to stroke her hair.
With such a soft feeling enveloping her body, Marinette slept. These last few weeks, she had gone to school on time. Slept well, been in such a better mood. Chat was good for her, and apparently she was good for him.
Chat smiled as he felt her breathing falter, then slow as she fell asleep in his arms. Leaning in, he kissed her forehead, the smell of her shampoo still fresh, and pulled out of her light grip.
"Until another night, my lady." He said softly, pulling her cover up once more. With that, he was gone, the moon shining down on Marinette's peaceful, slumbering body.
