It was cold outside for once, she didn't like it. Cold always meant something bad would happen, cold meant someone was going to get hurt, cold meant Haine was going to go away for a while.
She sucked in a slow breath and glanced down at her book, the cold made her fingers numb and her cheeks burn. She wanted to see him, she wanted to make sure he was still there, still around to see her, so she could try to pull him out of the pool he was drowning in… or at least drag him far enough out of it so he could breath easy for a while, before he let go and floated back to the depths of where he couldn't stay afloat. She didn't like it.
Nill's lips pursed and she closed her eyes, trying to force out any sound to let the world know that she was displeased with how this cold was taking over everything she held dear. This was the cold that took Naoto far from home… That took away Badou's cigarettes and made Bishop slightly edgy, even the rarely seen Mihai would be changed ever so slightly by this cool grasp of whatever was approaching.
She didn't like it, not at all.
She sat by the door, waiting for him to come, a small book in her hand, something that she could get Haine to read to her, something nice; a fairy tale, that would maybe chase away this cold, if only for a little while.
