Author's note: This summer I had gone to an art program and one of the activities was writing the first thing that comes to mind when a word is said. One of them is drowning. I instantly thought of the scene in The Last Guardian with the blood red lake. So I just wrote up Arty drowning. This is a bit altered, but it's still the same thing. It has no plot. Enjoy~

Artemis Fowl tripped and fell into the lake, illuminated to a cherry-red color by the setting sun.

As the water slowly dragged the teenager to it's depths, Artemis realized that Butler wasn't going to be around to save him. Not this time. Not again.

Artemis gazed up, trying to figure out how far he'd sunk. The light was now hardly filtering through the usually clear water.

He flailed his arms around to lift up even just a bit, his lungs aching. The water distorted but he didn't lift at all. He was too worn out.

The water pressure bearing down him, Artemis had one final thought, and smiled, the last tiny bit of oxygen escaping his lips.

"Goodbye...Friends."
