Battle of Jakku
(Set 3 years before episode VI)
The Sand of Jakku blew across the loading panel of the Troop Carrier 'Crucible', as the storm trooper squad Invictus were passing ammunition crates into the hold.
There were forty soldiers in total and the eighty hands were still too few to move all the crates to the hold, so more troops from Hunter squad were called to reinforce the regiment, given twenty three minutes to arrive the storm troopers were tired and hot from the desert sun, but more bad news was to impart…
Captain XX-653's intercom went off after he had loaded his thirteenth crate on board
"Captain, this is AD-770, we are west of your position and under heavy fire in a nearby town…we ne…your support…"
The intercom cut out after blaster fire was clearly heard. The captain ordered all troops to gear up and load their weapons to reinforce their comrades in the town. He redirected his reinforcement squad Hunter to the town in hopes they could assist.
Invictus squad were lined behind a long sand bank at the edge of the town, the sound of blaster fire going off was nearby. The troops had not seen much combat before and were natural worried. The captain overlooked the town and was sceptical that there were many other storm troopers left alive after the mysterious call on his intercom.
"VB-476 take three others and scout into the cantina over on the east, quickly!" The captain ordered. However, as soon as VB had stood up and primed his blaster a plasma round slammed into his helmet and blood sprayed onto the trooper next to him and left a pattern on the sand.
Ten minutes until reinforcement squad Hunter arrive
"Take cover!" Shouted the captain as the storm troopers knelt down behind the bank and blaster shots slammed into the cover in front of them. Some of the troopers returned fire, spraying aimless pulses of shots back towards an unseen enemy.
The captain then saw where the blaster rounds were coming from, a house just on the edge of the town, barely at all protected. He zoomed in on his visor for a better view and saw only a handful of rebel soldiers using…. a mounted gun.
A gun powerful enough to kill his entire unit….(TBC)
