A/N: So this is a Harmony fic I've been working on for a while and I'm only on chapter three :( I will do my best to write more of it, seeing as I really do love the pairing of Harry/Hermione :) They'd be perfect together. Anyway, read and review!
Disclaimer: Yeah, I SOOO don't own Harry Potter or any mentioned characters - all belongs to our glorious Queen, JKR.
"I'M NOT IN LOVE WITH YOU RON! I'M IN LOVE WITH HARRY!" Hermione yelled in the middle of Dean Forest. She quickly clapped her hand over her mouth and bounded back into the tent, feeling the eyes of her friends follow her until she disappeared. Ron stared at the tent flap until it shut. His gaze then turned towards Harry. It was bewildered at first but quickly changed to a look of anger and jealousy. "You git." He said coolly. Harry finally turned his attention away from the tent and towards Ron. He quirked his eyebrow, clearly confused.
"What?" he asked. Ron glared.
"You. Git. How could you do this to me? HOW?" Harry stared dumbfounded at Ron. While he was happy Hermione was in love with him (because he was in love with her, too), he didn't understand why Ron was angry with him.
"It's not like I forced her to fall in love with me!" He retorted.
"Oh, no! I mean, you're only the boy who lived and the Chosen One! I mean, you've got hoards of gaggling girls who want your affection! The locket was right," Ron said, turning on his heel. Harry ran after him.
"Ron, don't leave! Look, we can work this-" He never saw the punch coming. It hit him hard and square across his jaw, knocking him to the ground. Ron then quickly Disapparated. Harry lay there for a few moments before he stood up. He stared angrily at the empty space where Ron stood mere moments before. "Yeah?" He cried out to the air. "Well I'M IN LOVE WITH HERMIONE! WE DON'T NEED YOU!" Harry had been so caught up in his anger with Ron that he hadn't noticed Hermione.
"You l-love me too, Harry?" She asked timidly from behind him. Harry's eyes widened as he spun around, coming face to face with Hermione. A blush spread across his face, tinting everything a light shade of pink. He nodded shyly before answering verbally.
"Yeah, I do." She smiled up at him and he smiled back.
"Well, it's good to know I didn't make a fool of myself," Hermione said lightheartedly. They laughed, easing some of the tension. Finally, Harry spoke.
"So…"
"So…" Both were unsure of what to say next, but Hermione voiced her first thought. "So…where do we go from here? Literally and figuratively." Harry shrugged.
"Well, I'm assuming that by literally, you mean, what place are we going to next, in which case, I'm not really sure. Figuratively speaking, however, I think we should start with this." He stepped forward towards Hermione, placing one hand on her waist, the other on her cheek. He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers. Hermione sucked in a breath and placed both her hands at the back of Harry's neck, playing with the hair at the nape. The hand that had started on her cheek moved to her waist, pulling her flush against him. The kiss lasted for several more moments before they had to pull apart to breath. They rested their foreheads against each other and breathed.
