My life in a nut shell

My name is Jesse McCoy, and I am in love with Johnny Depp. But you probably want to know a little about me first, well, I live in the Bahamas with my dad, my mom died when I was real little, bummer I know but I didn't really get to know her so I'm cool with it. I have green emerald eyes, which I inherited from my dad and wavy sandy blond hair, which I inherited from my mom. I'm fairly skinny, not skinny enough to be in a bikini, but …. I'm healthy let's just leave it at that.

My best friend, Julia, thinks I'm nuts to be in love with a guy as old as Johnny Depp, and I tell her she's nuts right back… then we share a laugh. My hobbies include surfing, school and fantasizing over said Mr. Depp. This is my life in a nut shell, people!

The story starts at the beach, one of my favorite places in the world, Julia and I go there to catch a wave every day after school. I had just finished topping off a huge wave and decided to go to shore to check my phone.

"Whoa!" I said looking at my phone screen.

"What's wrong?" asked Julia drying her caramel colored hair.

"My dad's texted me, like, twenty times in twenty minutes" I said.

"What do they say?" she asked.

"Stuff like "come home quick!" and "big news!" what could all that mean?" I said scrolling down the list of text messages.

Julia shrugged

"I should get going anyway" I said popping on my flip flops and started walking down the beach to my house.

"Wait!" Julia yelled to me.

I turned "what?"

She wiggled her fingers in front of her face and said "I can go like this!"

I laughed and did likewise back. It was something like a best friend thingy we did, we got it from pirates of the Caribbean: on stranger tides.

I headed home my mind still boggling with those messages my dad sent me.
